Nina Dobrev teases the finale, Daniel Gillies on Elena’s influence + Julie spills up to TV Guide

Amy Wilkinson (@amymwilk) has posted her latest dose of “Vampire Diaries” goodies. In this video interview, Nina teases what to expect from “As I Lay Dying”, which, according to her, prepares the audience for season 3. The entire article is up over at Hollywood Crush.

PopWrap‘s Jarett Wieselman continues his “Vampire Diaries” interview series with the following chat. In it, Daniel Gillies discusses Elijah’s personality and humanity (or what’s left of it) as well as his connection with Elena. Check out an excerpt here and head over to NYPost for the whole material.

PW: So you think there might be something more to their relationship?
Daniel: There’s no question that he’s enchanted by Elena but it’s not as simplistic as needing to be with this girl — I just think he’s more fascinated by her as a study in the potential of what a person can be. I think that if he does survive [the finale] and leaves Mystic Falls, I don’t think he can stay away because she’s too much of a miracle for him. There’s something in her that’s also in him – I don’t mean to be grotesque about it and frame this in a romantic context, but there’s a spiritual quality they share and that’s going to be very difficult for him to not return to.

Finally, Robyn Ross has released part one of her exclusive interview with Julie Plec. The producer and writer explains the (bloody) events around the Sacrifice and leave no clueless innocence, and shares her expectations for the May 12th finale. Visit TV Guide for more and come back tomorrow for the next part!

The penultimate episode was epic, how can the finale compare?
Plec: The last episode was clearly the season finale of our mythology storyline. We went all out and that was as deliberate choice knowing that the story we wanted to tell in our season finale is actually the emotional resolution of the season. We also want to really give the audience a window to where we’re going in Season 3, a taste of what the series is going to be like as we move forward.

Hollywood Life talks to Michael Trevino, is Damon doomed on The Vampire Diaries?

Michael Trevino attended a Tyler Shields photo exhibit last week. There, he met Hollywood Life. The two talked about the reason why Tyler would probably stick around, the dynamic between him and Caroline and Michael’s wishes for them as a couple. He also mentions the charity he’s working for right now and Chloe, whose idea it actually was.

Are Matt and Tyler going to be friends again? Do you miss filming those buddy/buddy scenes with Zach Roerig?

I really do. I miss working with Zach. And also Steven [R. McQueen.] I think they’ll be friends. Like he said in the last episode, he’s by himself. His mother’s gone, he lost his sister. … Who else is he going to turn to? He realizes Tyler means well, but obviously, given the circumstances of the moon coming every now and then, you can’t control that.

THE ENTIRE INTERVIEW – AT HOLLYWOOD LIFE.

With tomorrow’s EPIC season finale, I bet Kristin‘s email was full of “Vampire Diaries” questions. She chose to answer two of them (both related to Damon)  in E! Online’s latest spoiler chat. If you haven’t watched episode 20 yet, they’re extremely spoilery for you. And if you’re a fan of Damon and Elena together, the second one will make you pant for next episode even more.

aka_savannah: Will this partial werewolf bite kill my poor heart-broken Damon? #TVD
Just from knowing what we know about how TV shows work—like how networks don’t let producers kill off lead male characters—we’re gonna go ahead and say…no, Damon will not die from the werewolf bite.

lauren_delena: Any Damon and Elena finale scoop? Will they finally kiss? Thanks!
We will say that because Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is going crazy over his werewolf bite, he is capable of doing anything and saying anything. All bets are off and anything can happen when an off-his-rocker vampire is on the loose!

PopWrap’s interviews with Nina Dobrev & Stephen Amell: “It’s survival of the fittest.”

Looks like it’s “Vampire Diaries” week at PopWrap. After posting his interview with former guest star Stephen Amell, Jarett Wieselman has published his Nina Dobrev chat today. The actor, who played Brady, comments on filming “Daddy Issues” with Candice Accola, auditioning for Mason and Elijah as well as his other projects.

PW: I’m guessing that happened after filming Caroline’s torture scene?
Stephen: Yes. That was a really fun scene, and all the credit there goes to Candice Accola. She was the one with small explosives strapped to her arms, fishing bullets out of her skull. I just sat back and got to be creepy [laughs]. That was a fun scene.

On the other hand, Nina spills up about balancing between two characters, Katherine’s different faces, last week’s and this week’s shocking twists, etc. You can find an interesting quote below and go to New York Post for the full story.

PW: Will this finale set up the events of season three the way “Founder’s Day” set up season two?
Nina: It does. There’s not just one – there’s two or three kind of big twists that change the course of everyone’s lives, and they’re unexpected. It affects Damon & Elena hugely. It effects Stefan more than anyone would have imagined. Jeremy’s life is just completely turned around, and almost confusing – you’ll see why soon enough. But it initiates these storylines that will flourish in season three.

Collider chats to Joseph Morgan, Jeremy’s upcoming action

Collider‘s Christina Radish has recently chatted on the phone with actor Joseph Morgan. Some of the topics covered: playing the villain, what he’d like to see from Klaus in the future and his attitude towards the Salvatore brothers. Read an extract below and visit Collider’s site for the rest.

What do you think Klaus thinks of the Salvatore brothers? Does he feel that one is more of a thorn in his side than the other?

MORGAN: Maybe. Damon he just thinks is a loose canon. These guys are 160 years old, and he’s been around for probably 10 times that. At worst, they’re a nuisance to him. I don’t think he really sees either of them as a serious threat. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is more predictable for him because he’s in love with Elena (Nina Dobrev) in a way that is honorable. He can predict what Stefan will do and can manipulate that. Damon is a little more difficult because he is so unstacked. He doesn’t seem to value his own life very much, so he will turn up and say, “I killed your witch, and you can kill me if you want,” and just see what happens. That is probably a little more of a nuisance to Klaus, and also a little more impacting as well. He really puts himself out there and Klaus definitely has a fascination with that. I think there is also a fascination with Katherine because of that.

Over at EW, Steven R. McQueen gushes about Jeremy and the “kiss of the death”. Inside TV has got the scoop on Jeremy’s action this Thursday and his relationship with Bonnie. Get it below and head over to Entertainment Weekly for more on your favourites.

Vampire Diaries please! — Colleen

At the Thor premiere, we caught up with Steven R. McQueen, who dished on Jeremy’s upcoming action. “He takes part in the action in a way. That’s all I can reveal.” No, it’s not. “Working with Kat [Graham] has been so great. She is a great actress and an even better person. I have been happy to finally have a girlfriend with a fighting chance at surviving. Jeremy has what we call around the set ‘the kiss of death.’ All of his love interests seem to die on him, but Bonnie is powerful and at least has a fighting chance at surviving all the supernatural villains around town.” The question is: Does Jeremy? Jenna didn’t seem to have too much luck last night, after all.

Nina visits KTLA Morning News + Paul on Ryan Seacrest this morning

A few hours before The Sun Also Rises’s airing last Thursday, Nina Dobrev swang by KTLA Studios. She dished about Paul’s rumoured marriage, mythology on the show, the Catch VD campaign, etc. Thanks bunches to cristinababyblue for uploading!

Paul Wesley himself has also been interviewed recently. Actually, more recently than you’d think. This morning, the actor was featured on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest”. He was the first guest of his “Hunt Week”, starting today. See what Paul had to say about his character below and listen to the entire audio at Ryan’s official site.

When asked about his character Paul says “I think he’s [Stefan] is a good guy, but I think he has some darkness inside of him…I’ve done some bad things.” He admits though, “I think it’s always more fun to play the bad boy. You will see more ‘bad Stefan.’ I think you will be very happy with it!”

Nina Dobrev and Sara Canning on last episode’s shocking bloodbath (Zap2it, MTV & TV Line interviews)

Are you still processing this week’s cliffhangers? We know we are. Last episode literally turned our world upside down. There was so much blood and death in 42 minutes that we almost lost hope that “the sun would also rise”. Dobrev and Canning (who were on the first row for the sacrifice) sat down to discuss the most major events and consequences. The articles posted below contain HUGE spoilers for international fans who haven’t caught up on the show yet.

Zap2it: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Nina Dobrev talks dresses, D.C. and Season 3

“It’s going to be really cool to see where it goes. I mean there’s so many possibilities of where it could go. The storyline has opened up to so many different things now,” she says. “That also means there’s more flashbacks, which is fun. I love doing the flashbacks, being in a different world and a different era.”

TV Line: Vampire Diaries Actress Opens Up About Her Big [SPOILER] Scene: ‘It Was Really Emotional’

TVLINE | What’s next for you? Any immediate plans?
I actually have a few things that I’m doing right now. I’m working on a short [film] that’s a noir piece, and I’m really excited about that. I also am doing a film at the end of this month for Lifetime called The Hunt for the I-5 Killer, which is based on true events. I’ve been auditioning, but I just got back to Vancouver a week ago, so that’s just a huge move to deal with.
