New stills, song list & ratings for The Sun Also Rises (221)

Nina Dobrev Fans, a fansite dedicated to the lovely actress, has found some new stills from last episode thanks to her friend Ali. They contain spoilers up to 220 “The Last Day”, so don’t click unless you’ve seen it. But if you did, head over to Nina Pictures for the entire set.

Tracks on the show gets fewer and fewer with every single episode. The only one featured in “The Sun Also Rises” was “Skinny Love” performed by Birdy. You can download it on Amazon US and Amazon UK. Its official video, which is up on YouTube, also premiered about a month ago. If you liked the song as much as we do, be sure to check out Bon Iver’s original version as well.

Ratings are between 2.5-3.0 millions, again. 2.67 million fans sat down to watch “The Vampire Diaries” at 8/7c. As you can expect, DVR ratings are a little higher with 2.84 in total (love you, too, “American Idol”). Don’t forget to tune in next week for the amazing finale of an even more amazing season!

CW’s The Vampire Diaries was steady vs. last week with a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating but Nikita was up 33% to a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating.

New Elena, Stefan & Damon poster + description and first look at season 2 finale

This newly released promotional poster of the trio is the latest one from the Ophelia-esque series. Ophelia is one of the main characters in William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. If you don’t know her story, check out what a fan had to say about it. You can thank Vampire-Diaries.net for the poster, textless one can be found in their gallery. See individual versions of Elena, Stefan and Damon here. How many will die so that one could live in your opinion?

Official synopsis for the last episode of season 2 surfaced yesterday. Many thanks to VampireSite.net! The episode is directed by John Behring and written by Turi Meyer (hi there, “Smallville” fans!), Al Septien and Michael Narducci. Any guesses on who will lay dying?

THE BOND BETWEEN BROTHERS — While Mystic Falls presents a screening of “Gone with The Wind” in the town square, Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) memories of Katherine (Nina Dobrev) in 1864 mix with the reality of Elena (Nina Dobrev) in the present day. Stefan (Paul Wesley) pays a terrible personal price for his attempt to prevent a tragedy, and Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) makes a deadly mistake while trying to keep everyone safe. More than one life hangs in the balance as the consequences of the sacrifice ritual play out to a horrifying conclusion.

Steven R. McQueen, Katerina Graham, Candice Accola and Matt Davis also star.

The first still from the finale was also revealed yesterday. Looks like things are getting pretty hot between Damon and Elena. And that fire in the background makes them even hotter. You can view the image under the cut and read Robyn Ross‘s article over at TV Guide.

Synopsis & stills for The Sun Also Rises (221), new Stefan promo poster

Here’s the final poster in the “Ophelia-esque” promo series (left), courtesy of Vampire-Diaries.net. It portrays Stefan and has the rather ominous tagline “Dying to save her.” I assume it’s Elena we’re talking about here. I just doubt it that he would die for Katherine twice.

The official description of episode 21 also hit the Net last week. It’s titled “The Sun Also Rises” and that’s when the Sacrifice ritual begins. In case you were busy trying to catch up with all the news (as I was), you can find Vee’s speculations on the title here. Even though the synopsis is shorter than usual, it contains lots of spoilers, so be careful.

THE SACRIFICE RITUAL BEGINS — With the arrival of the full moon, Elena (Nina Dobrev) tries to prepare for whatever Klaus (guest star Joseph Morgan) has planned and Tyler (Michael Trevino) faces his second transformation. The terrifying events quickly spin out of control, despite an unexpected act of courage. Finally, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) admits the truth to Stefan (Paul Wesley) about a terrible new development they must face.

Steven R. McQueen, Sara Canning, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig and Matt Davis also star. Paul M. Sommers directed the episode written by Caroline Dries & Mike Daniels.

In addition to the episode description, The CW has gave us our first look at it. Just one more set of stills (“As I Lay Dying”) to be released! Time goes by fast, indeed. Thanks to VampireSite.net again, more images are up in their gallery.

First stills from The Last Day (220), new promo photos of Paul & Ian

After the episode images for “The Last Dance” and “Klaus”, The CW has given us our first look at episode 20. Considering the fact that Damon and Alaric are together again, I assume that Klaus will be out of Alaric’s body by 220. More stills can be found over at VampireSite.net. Wondering whose last day will be April 28th…

New season 2 promotional images of Paul and Ian popped up as well. Paul’s promo was featured in this week’s TV Guide, while Ian’s one is from that ballet shoot. Click on the resized versions below to go to VampireSite.net’s gallery.

New Klaus (219) episode stills, summary for The Last Day

Many thanks to VampireSite.net for uploading these new stills from 219. They feature Klaus, Katherine and Elijah in the 15th century. Flashbacks, beautiful clothes, Originals… it will be an awesome “Vampire Diaries” episode for sure. Not that we doubted it. View the entire set in VampireSite.net’s gallery. HQ versions are up over at Blood Falls.

The site has also posted the official description of the April 28th episode. It is quite spoilery, so read with caution. I will say one thing – the fans of big turns won’t be disappointed. After all, it’s titled “The Last Day”.

NEVER IS A VERY LONG TIME — Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to prevent Elena (Nina Dobrev) from being a victim of Klaus’ (guest star Joseph Morgan) plan to break the curse. Damon’s actions put him at terrible odds with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and the tension that started brewing between the brothers over their differing opinions of how to help save Elena’s life blows up into full-scale conflict. Tyler (Michael Trevino) returns to Mystic Falls after receiving a disturbing phone call. With the full moon marking the arrival of the sacrifice ritual, Stefan and Elena spend a romantic day together — afraid it might be their last.

Sara Canning, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig and Matt Davis also star. J. Miller Tobin directed the episode written by Andrew Chambliss & Brian Young.

This week’s Know Thy Enemy webclip, more stills for The Last Dance

The CW has been treating us more than well lately. After the recently released extended promo, the network uploaded a “Know Thy Enemy” clip to their YouTube channel. It shows the good old trio, also known as Stefan, Damon and Katherine. The wait is over in two days!

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Also, Vampire Diaries Web has even more stills from next week’s “The Last Dance”. Click on the thumbnails below for the HQ versions. Episode description can be found here.

Episode 20 & 22 (season finale!) titles, additional stills from season 2

Spoiler TV has recently revealed the CW primetime schedule for the entire season. Thank God, there won’t be any other breaks this year until after the finale. The schedule also shows episode 20 title – “The Last Day”. Last dance, last day… poor Mystic Falls residents, I would say!

Plus, Ian Somerhalder announced the start of season 2 finale shooting yesterday. Right after that, he tweeted a photo of his own copy of the script (right). It is titled “As I Lay Dying”, written by TBD and directed by John Behring (“Plan B”, “The Last Dance”). I’m with mixed feelings about this – happy that the cast will be finally able to catch a break, but also sad that it’s that time of the year again.

It’s here-Season finale episode (ep222) of TVD.Wow,44 episodes in 24 months.Almost 3pm,got out of bed,coffee and new script- awesomeness…

Andrea at Vampire Diaries Web has added yet another batch of extra stills and BTS pictures to their gallery. There are images from almost every single episode so far as well as a few from next week’s “Know Thy Enemy”. They’re honestly awesome, so be sure to visit the site and look through them!

UPDATE:

Vampire-Diaries.net reported the last unknown season 2 episode title last night. According to them, episode 21 will be the one where “The Sun Also Rises”. Vee also let her imagination loose and shared her thoughts on the recently revealed titles. Check them all out here. Some really interesting references there!

Vampire Diaries preview for future episodes, more stills from Klaus (219) + new promo poster

CWtelevision has released a shiny new promo as an April present to all “Vampire Diaries” fans. It includes footage from at least three upcoming episodes as well as scenes with almost every character. There’s something for everyone, to put it mildly. The CW certainly knows how to please their viewers. Just five episodes left until season 2 finale. Are you ready for a ride?

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Vampire Diaries Web has posted three more stills from “Klaus”. Unfortunately, there’s still not one of the “oldest vampire in the history of time”. Not that it comes as a surprise – I suppose the writers want to keep him a mystery. However, the new pictures offer a look at crying Elena and Jenna, plus rather shocked Damon and Andie. Looks like the girl’s still alive – you can’t deny she has luck. As to why the ladies are crying, we don’t know. But don’t worry – all will be revealed April 21st.

April Sweeps poster has also been revealed. It portrays “born to die” Elena surrounded by flowers. You can check it out along with some “Klaus” stills below. Head over to Vampire-Diaries.net for a textless version.
