The CW primetime calendar: Another break coming, episode 10 title

A few days ago, a new CW primetime calendar has been revealed, thanks to Spoiler TV. Going through it, we noticed there’s yet another Vampire Diaries hiatus set. According to the calendar, there will be a 3-week break after episode 9 (“Katerina”). There are 2 encores scheduled to be aired during the break – a “Bad Moon Rising” (203) one on November 18th and a “Kill or Be Killed” (205) re-run on November 25th. After that, the show will be back. Episode 10, which is titled “The Sacrifice”, will be broadcast on December 2nd. We’re not sure if the October 9th episode will be all new, but we guess (and hope) so. Speaking of sacrifices, doesn’t the title remind you of the latest November Sweeps poster? Just a coincidence? Or something more?

Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham on MTV’s 10 on Top 2010

Paul, Ian and Kat were on 10 on Top 2010 by MTV. HUGE congrats to the cast for coming in at #2! I think we’re all agree they totally deserve it. Many thanks to Vampire Diaries Web for the video! Be sure to check out some screencaps over at¬†their site.

IGN chat with Nina and Ian: “Katherine’s always three steps ahead of everybody.”

This past week saw Katherine’s ally Mason taken out by Damon (via a nicely done ripping out of the heart), but as she revealed at the end of the episode, that was fairly inconsequential to Katherine. As Dobrev explained, “Oh, you’d be stupid to think that Katherine is not up to something at all times. She’s always three steps ahead of everybody. She anticipates something going wrong in every scenario and she plans for the mistakes and how she’ll counter it. She’s such a smart, complicated woman who’s powerful and crazy and doesn’t care about anything or anyone, except herself. She’s very selfish.”
