PopWrap’s interviews with Nina Dobrev & Stephen Amell: “It’s survival of the fittest.”

Looks like it’s “Vampire Diaries” week at PopWrap. After posting his interview with former guest star Stephen Amell, Jarett Wieselman has published his Nina Dobrev chat today. The actor, who played Brady, comments on filming “Daddy Issues” with Candice Accola, auditioning for Mason and Elijah as well as his other projects.

PW: I’m guessing that happened after filming Caroline’s torture scene?
Stephen: Yes. That was a really fun scene, and all the credit there goes to Candice Accola. She was the one with small explosives strapped to her arms, fishing bullets out of her skull. I just sat back and got to be creepy [laughs]. That was a fun scene.

On the other hand, Nina spills up about balancing between two characters, Katherine’s different faces, last week’s and this week’s shocking twists, etc. You can find an interesting quote below and go to New York Post for the full story.

PW: Will this finale set up the events of season three the way “Founder’s Day” set up season two?
Nina: It does. There’s not just one – there’s two or three kind of big twists that change the course of everyone’s lives, and they’re unexpected. It affects Damon & Elena hugely. It effects Stefan more than anyone would have imagined. Jeremy’s life is just completely turned around, and almost confusing – you’ll see why soon enough. But it initiates these storylines that will flourish in season three.

Episode 20 & 22 (season finale!) titles, additional stills from season 2

Spoiler TV has recently revealed the CW primetime schedule for the entire season. Thank God, there won’t be any other breaks this year until after the finale. The schedule also shows episode 20 title – “The Last Day”. Last dance, last day… poor Mystic Falls residents, I would say!

Plus, Ian Somerhalder announced the start of season 2 finale shooting yesterday. Right after that, he tweeted a photo of his own copy of the script (right). It is titled “As I Lay Dying”, written by TBD and directed by John Behring (“Plan B”, “The Last Dance”). I’m with mixed feelings about this – happy that the cast will be finally able to catch a break, but also sad that it’s that time of the year again.

It’s here-Season finale episode (ep222) of TVD.Wow,44 episodes in 24 months.Almost 3pm,got out of bed,coffee and new script- awesomeness…

Andrea at Vampire Diaries Web has added yet another batch of extra stills and BTS pictures to their gallery. There are images from almost every single episode so far as well as a few from next week’s “Know Thy Enemy”. They’re honestly awesome, so be sure to visit the site and look through them!

UPDATE:

Vampire-Diaries.net reported the last unknown season 2 episode title last night. According to them, episode 21 will be the one where “The Sun Also Rises”. Vee also let her imagination loose and shared her thoughts on the recently revealed titles. Check them all out here. Some really interesting references there!

Interviews galore: Candice spills to TV Line, LA Times, MTV & more + Sara and Zach chats

With yesterday”s “Vampire Diaries” episode being the last until April, lots of interviews were released. The press talked to various cast members, particularly Candice. There are chats with Sara Canning and Zach Roerig, too. We brought all articles together, so you don’t lose your mind. Follow the links above the extracts for the entire stories. Thanks to Vampire-Diaries.net (@tvdnews) and Vampire Diaries Online (@tvdfansonline) for the heads up!

TV Line: Candice Accola Talks Tyler, Matt and that Dreaded Vampire Diaries Death

TVLINE | What can Caroline fans look forward to in the next few episodes?
Tyler (played by Michael Trevino) has just left, so Caroline is just working on everything being OK. He had been consuming her time — obviously she had his back and he didn’t have hers , and he’s been the one standing in between her opportunities with Matt (played by Zach Roerig). So she’s trying to get back to herself.

TV Guide: Vampire Diaries’ Sara Canning: Alaric’s Confession Will Rock Jenna’s World

“She started having these inklings and mistrust creeping in largely due to what John has been mumbling,” says Sara Canning. “Jenna is straight up with Alaric and says, ‘If this is going to work you need to be honest with me’ and he really doesn’t have anything to say.”

Zap2it: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Zach Roerig and Candice Accola talk young love, butterflies… and murderous vampires

Zach scoffs. “If Tyler comes back, he’ll have much more to deal with than just this love triangle. There will be a whole other can of worms. He’s not going to be a threat to the romance aspect of it, I don’t think,” he says. “Honestly if Matt and Caroline can just get through everything that happens to them in these next couple episodes, they can get through just about anything.”

Lauren Cohan chats to EW, Julie Plec dishes about TVD with Zap2it

Inside TV has had a chance to talk to guest star Lauren Cohan this week. She reveals some behind the scenes secrets as well as why her conversation with Elena featured on “The Descent” trailer didn’t make it to the episode itself. The actress even discusses Damon’s final scene in “Daddy Issues” and what it is that makes him so sexy. Head over to Entertainment Weekly for the entire article.

Also, executive producer Julie Plec has met with Carina Mackenzie. The reporter has posted the first two parts of their chat so far. In the first one, the Caroline/Matt/Tyler love triangle is a main topic. Plec also talks about each of them as a character and their journey this season. According to her, things between the “vampire Barbie” and werewolf Jr. won’t get easier anytime soon. Especially considering she and Matt will share a “great moment” in an upcoming episode. More to it, Donovan will get more screen time, so expect more questions to come. Check out an excerpt below, the rest of the article is here.

Of course, with “The Vampire Diaries,” things are never quite that easy. Keep an eye out for a powerful scene between Matt and Tyler in Thursday’s Feb. 10 episode, “Crying Wolf.” The stakes in this love triangle have definitely been raised.

Part two is all about Stefan, Elena and Damon. Julie comments on the Salvatore brothers’ demons, Elena’s position towards them and how it could change when she finds out the truth about her beloved vampire’s past. Damon’s new blood obsession with Andie will be noticed by Elena as well. Oh, and you can be sure the heroine won’t be quite pleased when Stefan tells her all about his past (215 “The Dinner Party”).

“It’s no secret that having to play emotional Damon makes Ian really uncomfortable as a person, as an actor,” Plec says. “It’s hard, because you have to tap into your own emotional stuff, and now we keep challenging him. We’re going to keep making him dig deeper and deeper.”

Spoilers selection: Crying wolf promo, synopsis of 215 & 216, episode stills and more

TV Line has recently reported that the search for Klaus is finally over. The legendary vampire will be probably played by Joseph Morgan. As you can guess, this immediately became top “Vampire Diaries” news. Although the actor’s credits include mostly British films and TV series, he does have some intriguing roles. Back in 2003, he starred in “Master and Commander” along with Russell Crow. Morgan has also played Philotas in the biography movie about the life of Alexander the Great (starring Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie). Something about his face (right) reminds me of Klaus. I think he would make a fierce Original! What’s your opinion? Learn more over at TV Line.

Let’s continue with the tidbits, shall we? In this article, Natalie Abrams reviews the latest TVD spoilers from TV Guide. She comments on the showdown between vampires and werewolves, warlocks Martin, Jr. and Martin, Sr., Elena’s destiny, etc. Great recap, especially if you haven’t had a chance to caught up with the news lately!

TV Guide Magazine also highlights the top moments from “Daddy Issues” in its 7-13 February issue. As usual, spoiler warning for the ones, who haven’t seen the episode yet. HUGE thanks to tariel22 via @tvdfansonline, the scan is up at their site!

Clevver TV caught up with Stephen Amell’s (Brady) cousin, Robbie last week. He spills up about his cousin’s guest role on “The Vampire Diaries”, teasing he’s going be around for two episodes. It means 214 “Crying Wolf” is his final ep. Why is he gone after only two weeks? Are the Salvatore brothers to blame? That, we’ll see this Thursday. For now, enjoy Clevver TV’s report. Thanks, Vampire Diaries Online!

Official descriptions for episode 15 (“The Dinner Party”) and 16 (“The House Guest”) (click to visit VampireSite.net) have been released as well. Airing February 17th and February 24th, respectively.

SECRETS AND LIES – Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) get away for what they hope will be a romantic weekend at the Gilbert family lake house, not realizing that they’ve been followed. Jenna (Sara Canning) starts to worry that Alaric (Matt Davis) isn’t being honest with her. Jules (guest star Michaela McManus) explains the importance of the sun and moon curse to Tyler (Michael Trevino), but leaves out an important detail. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) attends a tea at the Historical Society in order to talk to Elijah (guest star Daniel Gillies), but Elijah isn’t giving up any secrets. With help from Caroline (Candice Accola) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Bonnie (Katerina Graham) uses deceptive measures to get shocking new information out of Luka (guest star Bryton James). Finally, Tyler offers Matt (Zach Roerig) some relationship advice.

David Von Ancken directed the episode written by Brian Young.

As if the synopsis wasn’t enough to thrill us, Nina Dobrev Network has two stills from the February 10th episode. You can check them out in her gallery. Let the celebrations begin, Stelena fans! And in case you haven’t wished NDN happy 1st anniversary yet, head over to her site to do it. 🙂

Candice & Kevin open up at TCA Press Tour, Inside TV talks to Daniel Gillies

Some interviews surfaced in the past few days. First of all, Wetpaint caught up with Candice Accola at the Television Critics Association Tour to talk about Caroline and Tyler. The chat is rather short, but quite interesting. Head over to their site for the entire story.

Does anything happen in those?

Yes. There are interactions between Tyler and Caroline. I think the thing to remember is that Caroline’s been lying to Tyler. And also, there are more werewolves coming into town. So how that’s going to sway Tyler in the kind of man that he wants to be is going to be very interesting. How that affects Caroline and Tyler’s relationship and friendship is going to be interesting. Caroline and Matt, whether anything is going to spark. That’s a triangle — there are many triangles. It’s become a whole geometry problem within the town of Mystic Falls. But I think what’s really wonderful is that a lot of supernatural qualities of the show has been going on, and that’s obviously going to continue, but in the next couple of episodes there are a lot of very human questions being asked that are more based on relationships.

Wetpaint talked to Kevin Williamson as well. The interview is separated in two parts (part one and part two). It touches on everything “Vampire Diaries” including Klaus’s casting (of course), Damon’s shower scene and the possibility of a gay character coming up this season. Beware of spoilers!

Are you casting a name we already know or someone new?
We’re looking at both — people who might be familiar to an audience. But most importantly, we want the right actor. So I’m guessing it’ll probably be someone we don’t know.

In addition to the gay character rumours, Michael Jensen says it wouldn’t be a werewolf. Williamson explained his decision saying that would be “too obvious.” Read Jensen’s article over at AfterElton.com.

Fancast has a report of the main spoilers spilled by the executive producer. According to Carrie Borzillo, “the Elena/Katherine dichotomy will continue to take twists and turns.” Visit Carrie’s Fancast page for her full recap.

Daniel Gillies (who is already on Twitter) had his moment, too. In this interview with Inside TV, the actor comments on Elijah, his upcoming integration into the town and who he thinks should play Klaus. Plus, Daniel teases Elijah knows John Gilbert and has scenes with him. Find out more at Entertainment Weekly.

Daddy Issues (213) synopsis, latest Candice appearances + various cast interviews

The episode description of “Daddy Issues” has been released, thanks to VampireSite.net. According to the latest spoilers (and Michael Trevino’s tweet), David Anders is coming back in it. The synopsis confirms that. Besides Uncle John’s return, Damon’s shower scene takes place in that episode as well. In conclusion, I already love February 3rd.

CHOOSING SIDES — Johnathan Gilbert’s (guest star David Anders) return to Mystic Falls comes as an unhappy surprise to Elena (Nina Dobrev), Jenna (Sara Canning) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Caroline (Candice Accola) lets Stefan (Paul Wesley) know about her conversation with Tyler (Michael Trevino), and Stefan does his best to reach out to a confused and conflicted Tyler. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) comforts Bonnie (Katerina Graham) after her disturbing conversation with Jonas (guest star Randy Goodwin). When Jules (guest star Michaela McManus) takes a hostage, the situation quickly escalates into a violent confrontation.

Zach Roerig and Matt Davis also star. Joshua Butler directed the episode written by Kevin Williamson & Julie Plec.

Candice Accola has recently attended a few events (our 2011 Winter TCA master post is coming, so stay tuned!). First, she showed up at Give Back Hollywood Foundation & Fashion Forms Giving Lounge on January 13th. Two days later, the actress shone in a black dress at 2011 Art Of Elysium “Heaven” Gala. Visit the links above for high quality photos. HUGE thanks to @CAccolaWeb!

Speaking of, Mandie (the webmaster) has a poll about the recent “Buffy” speculations up over at her site. If you haven’t heard yet, Candice is one of the actresses most likely to star in the upcoming remake. In case you’re interested, Candice Accola Web has links to various articles.

Also, TV Guide and EW posted their chats with Steven R. McQueen and Sara Canning, respectively. Robyn Ross and Steven talk about Jeremy’s crush on Bonnie, his season 2 motivations and more. The video can be found after the break and Robyn’s article is over here. On the other hand, Sara comments on the men in her character’s life – Alaric, John Gilbert and… Original Elijah? There are quotes from Kevin, Julie and Ian included, too. Head over to Inside TV for the entire interview.

Michaela McManus chats to Inside TV, Damon’s shower scene takes place in episode 13

Inside TV has talked to lots of cast members latterly. Mandi last chatted to the newest arrival in Atlanta/Mystic Falls, Michaela McManus. She mainly comments on the men of the show, including Mason and Tyler Lockwood, werewolf buddy Brady and unique Damon. Michaela doesn’t omit to drop some hints about the second half of the season as well, so be careful.

Asked if she’s gotten to film a transformation scene yet, she says she’s shot a partial one: “Coming out of it is what I filmed. When they turn, they transform into this beast, and the morning after, it’s discovering what happened last night. It’s kind of like blacking out when they turn. They’re not necessarily conscious of what they’re doing.” For the first time in her career, McManus is doing stunt work and she’s loving it. “Jules gets pretty physical, and I think people will be impressed with her skills,” she says. “[The show] is doing a lot more action. It’s something to tune in for.”

Head over to Entertainment Weekly for the full interview.

Also, Sandra Gonzales is reporting we’ll have the enormous pleasure to see the notorious shower scene of Damon’s in 213 “Daddy Issues”. The episode airs February 3rd, so mark your calendars!

Heather asks: Thank you for all The Vampire Diaries EW has covered lately! Now, any word on the upcoming Damon shower scene I’ve been hearing about?
No word on the identity of the “beautiful girl” he shares the scene with, but I can confirm it takes place in episode 13 and airs Feb. 3. So mark it with a giant smiley face with fangs on your TV calendars. (I’m not the only one who has one, right?)
