Ian Somerhalder has revealed that he was satisfied with the way Lost ended.
Somerhalder, who played Boone in the show, explained that the episode could never have pleased everyone.
“The finale was such a monumental thing because it spanned six years of phenomenal storytelling,” he told AOL. “For some viewers it was exuberant because it answered the questions they wanted answering and it was somewhat disappointing for other viewers.”
He added: “We all had an idea of where we wanted the story to go and it ended, I think, very powerfully, very neatly, and yet like any good story it still left you answering questions.”

6. IAN SOMERHALDER: Louisiana native Somerhalder was already known to audiences before last fall when the CW premiered a little show called The Vampire Diaries. Whether it was for his modeling, early acting roles in the feature film Life As A House or as Boone on the mega-hit Lost, Somerhalder was always destined for greatness, right? Unfortunately, Boone died during the second season Lost so what would take Somerhalder to the next level in terms of his career and popularity? Why not play a vampire in the midst of a resurgence of vampire projects like True Blood and the Twilight series? As Damon Salvatore, Somerhalder gets to be nasty, conniving but then show his softer side in his love for his past love, Katherine, who happens to look like his brother’s girlfriend Elena. Season Two of Vampire Diaries will start this fall and Somerhalder is sure to keep making his fans stand at attention!
3. PAUL WESLEY: Wesley wasn’t too well-known a year ago except for fans of his early career work in daytime soaps, various prime time guest spots, a recurring role on 24, and the ABC Family series, Fallen. It took his turn as the vampire-with-a-conscience on the CW series Vampire Diaries to launch Wesley into the crazy-high levels of superstardom. Fans can’t get enough of the show, the stars (Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, to name a few) and with a second season coming this fall, Vampire Diaries should reach new ratings heights and, of course, new heights in fame as Wesley shows us that he is just as adept at handling the delicious shirtless scenes as well as those where he literally gets to chew the scenery and show what a great actor he is, too!

The death of Mayor Lockwood in The Vampire Diaries‘ season finale paves the way for the arrival of his younger brother (and Tyler’s uncle), Mason, this fall. Keep reading for fresh details on the new character…
Mason Lockwood: Described as Tyler’s “cool” uncle, Mason is sexy and athletic and possesses an easygoing charm. Though he has more control than his nephew, he can “flip in an instant” if crossed. Seeking Latin or Caucasian actors in their 30s for this recurring role.
Armchair Casting Director suggestion: Skeet Ulrich (if Law & Order: Los Angeles doesn’t snap him up).

Little known fact: Next week, the Television Academy will be handing out nominations for something called the “Primetime Emmy Awards” (pronounced: pry-mm ty-me eh-mee ah-words).
Of course, we all know where the real glory comes in for TV’s best-loved stars: E! Online’s annual Tater Top Awards–the only awards decided solely by the voters who know best, you fans.
And it begins right here…
Tater Tops is the chance for you TV-lovin’ couch potatoes (Taters? Get it? So clever, we know) to give love to the TV shows and stars you love the most.
All joking about the “real glory” aside, I can tell you that the Tater Top Award winners do receive real, bonafide Golden Tater trophies, and many of the actors and producers who’ve won in the past have reached out to say how utterly cool it is to know how much you fans care.

We never learned exactly what the evil Mayor Lockwood (Robert Pralgo) was (vampire? werewolf? smoke monster?) before he lost his life in a burning basement in The Vampire Diaries season finale. But we may find out thanks to a mysterious new arrival headed to Mystic Falls.
“Our big new addition is Mason Lockwood, the mayor’s much younger and cooler brother, who has been estranged from the family,” says executive producer Julie Plec. “His return introduces a lot of questions about what is so special about that creepy Lockwood family.” My guess: they were unicorns with wooden vampire-killing horns.
