Nina Dobrev and Sara Canning on last episode’s shocking bloodbath (Zap2it, MTV & TV Line interviews)

Are you still processing this week’s cliffhangers? We know we are. Last episode literally turned our world upside down. There was so much blood and death in 42 minutes that we almost lost hope that “the sun would also rise”. Dobrev and Canning (who were on the first row for the sacrifice) sat down to discuss the most major events and consequences. The articles posted below contain HUGE spoilers for international fans who haven’t caught up on the show yet.

Zap2it: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Nina Dobrev talks dresses, D.C. and Season 3

“It’s going to be really cool to see where it goes. I mean there’s so many possibilities of where it could go. The storyline has opened up to so many different things now,” she says. “That also means there’s more flashbacks, which is fun. I love doing the flashbacks, being in a different world and a different era.”

TV Line: Vampire Diaries Actress Opens Up About Her Big [SPOILER] Scene: ‘It Was Really Emotional’

TVLINE | What’s next for you? Any immediate plans?
I actually have a few things that I’m doing right now. I’m working on a short [film] that’s a noir piece, and I’m really excited about that. I also am doing a film at the end of this month for Lifetime called The Hunt for the I-5 Killer, which is based on true events. I’ve been auditioning, but I just got back to Vancouver a week ago, so that’s just a huge move to deal with.

More and more interviews continue to pop up. This week, they have been mostly of Ms. Dobrev. They can be all found below and follow the links for the whole stories. Nina opens up about her “Vampire Diaries” co-stars, the characters she plays and the last two episodes of season 2. There are some pretty spoilery segments, so beware!

Inside TV: Nina Dobrev’s five teases for tonight’s ‘Vampire Diaries’ (and one big one for the season finale)

• Fans are talking about chemistry between Elena and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Should we be? “We can obviously tell that there was something between Elijah and Katherine, and there is now something sort of building between Elena and Elijah. Is it the same thing that’s been going on with every guy who’s encountered Elena after having survived Katherine?” Dobrev asks. (She has no answer.) “It’s funny,” she says. “Daniel Gillies is such a sweetheart, and he’s so amazing and so funny, and we’re really, really good friends, so we have a lot of fun on set. That kind of chemistry and friendship definitely can be caught on camera. I’m glad that it plays.”

Hollywood Crush: Nina Dobrev Says Tonight’s ‘Vampire Diaries’ Ep Will Be ‘Very Sad, Epic’

“Paul Sommers is directing it,” Nina said. “And Paul Sommers is our director of photography, so he’s done every episode since the beginning, except the pilot. So it’s his directorial debut. And it’s really cool and we’re really excited for him.”

Chat time: Vampire Diaries finale scoop, Originals & sacrifices

Yes, you heard that right. It’s chat time again! With season two coming to an end, there’s been hundreds of interviews surfacing. I put them all together in this post for your safety and sanity. There are many topics discussed, especially the finale, the Curse of the Sun and the Moon and Klaus, of course. For more scoop, click on the Interview category at the top of the page.

Zap2it: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev on Katherine: ‘It must be a lonely place’

Don’t expect Katherine to stay down for long, though. “When she gets rejected, she wants it even more,” she says. “It’s the want-what-I-can’t-have syndrome. It makes the dynamic with Katherine and Damon a little bit more interesting because all of a sudden he doesn’t want her anymore. It’s kind of like ‘Oh, you don’t want me? I’m going to make you want me.’ It heightens the love triangle even more between those three.”

Chat galore: TV Fanatic’s set visit, Julie Plec on what’s next for Damon, Zap2it talks to Nina + more

TV Fanatic‘s Gabrielle Compolongo paid a visit to the “Vampire Diaries” set last month. She posted a review of her experience as well as photos with the cast. Except hanging around in Atlanta, Gabrielle talked to Ian Somerhalder about season 2, Elena vs. Katherine and what Damon would do for the woman he loves. Both parts can be found at her blog.

In addition to EW’s 60’s style slideshow, Mandi Bierly has more quotes from Julie Plec. She particularly comments on Elena and Stefan’s reaction when they learn about Damon’s compulsion on reporter Andie Star. The raising tension between the Salvatore brothers is also mentioned. Read an excerpt here and go to Inside TV for the rest of the story.

The tension between the Salvatore Brothers will also continue to rise, Plec says, as they find themselves on opposite ends of a debate about the best methods to protect Elena. “I am fully a Team Salvatore shipper. I want the brothers to be brothers, and to love each other, and to be good to each other always, but that’s part of the journey of the show,” Plec says. “When you’ve got two guys who have feelings for the same girl, that’s not gonna be easy. And it starts to become particularly complicated as we get to the end of the season.”

Buffyfest met Andrew Chambliss during WonderCon’s Dark Horse Panel yesterday. Just in case you didn’t know, the writer is also working on Buffy’s season 9. He talks about writing for it and “Dollhouse” in general, but there are some “Vampire Diaries” questions, too. Great interview, especially for fans of “Buffy”! Check it all out here.

Carina Mackenzie definitely doesn’t waste her time. Besides chatting with Candice, the interviewer caught up with Nina Dobrev. The actress dishes on Damon’s influence in her character’s life, Elena’s immortality, etc. Watch a sneak peek below and stay tuned to Zap2it for more from your favourites.

Candice Accola interview goodness: Zap2it, TV Guide & Wetpaint

Candice Accola is not only a fan favourite, but reporter one. This past month, the blonde talked to various media about Caroline, her relationship with Matt and Tyler and what’s to come. Continue to read for the best snippets and visit the links above them for more.

Wetpaint Exclusive: Candice Accola – Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

Who would you prefer to date: a werewolf or a vamp?
This has nothing to do with who Caroline should date, but if I had to honestly answer that question, it would probably be a werewolf because I’d rather deal with just one night of the month than every single day of high-strung, potential death. You could deal with, like, one day a month he’s going to be an asshole. I think that’s doable.

Zap2it: ‘Vampire Diaries’ star Candice Accola: Will Caroline forgive Tyler? Plus, musical moments and birthday plans!

“What I love about Caroline’s arc this season is that she’s just gained so much perspective, which in turn has made her grow up so much,” Accola says. “Whereas before, throughout Season 1, I feel like Caroline would hold a grudge, [now she knows] she’s not perfect either. On her first night as a vampire she took advantage of a nurse and killed an innocent man. She’s killed and she’s asked to be forgiven, so she has it in her.”

Interview round-up: New promo videos, LA Times chats with Julie, Candice’s reveals to EW & MTV + more

Even though the show is on too-long hiatus this month, we can’t complain of lack of interviews. Various reporters have talked to the cast lately, such as Show Tracker, Zap2it‘s Carina Mackenzie and Hollywood Crush. We gathered all the articles in one post for your sanity. Check out the best quotes below and click on the links for the entire stories. And if you’d like to ask the writers a question yourself, head over to Vampire Diaries’ official Facebook page.

PopWrap: Dawn Olivieri: You never really die on ‘Vampire Diaries’

PW: Right, especially when that choice involves suffering from a fictional malady.
Dawn: Totally. What’s funny to me is that the writers are really showing what it’s doing to Damon. In season one, he was compelling Vicki and it became disastrous. He may have entered this situation thinking it could be a similar case, but it’s turning out much differently for Damon, which has been an interesting turn. He’s not just able to shrug her off like he thought he could. I can’t wait for you guys to see episode 19 – there’s a lot of Andie and Damon in that one. Some big things go down.

Show Tracker: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Remembering the dead with executive producer Julie Plec

That constant dark cloud over Mystic Falls means no one is safe forever, not even the show’s main trio of Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). “I think that there are people who are safe for quite a long time,” Plec says. “But the rule always applies. Anything can happen at any time, and not everybody’s going to like it, and not everyone’s going to be happy about it.” While Elena, Stefan and Damon are probably not going anywhere soon, it does seem likely there will be more casualties when the series returns April 7. “I think we’ve got about 20 characters working at this point. Yes, there will be a percentage of them that will not make it to season three.”

Zap2it chats to Nina and Sara, People’s video with Canning + Assignment X’s Candice interview

Zap2it recently chatted with two “Vampire Diaries” stars – Nina Dobrev and Sara Canning (click for read the chats). In her interview with Nina, Carina Mackenzie does her best to find out if Katherine gets her way out of the tomb any time soon. For that, she goes straight to executive producer Julie Plec and Nina herself. Continue to read for the scoop and visit Zap2it for more.

So you can bet Dobrev is looking forward to Katherine taking a nice long bath when she climbs out of that cave. “She’s plotting her way out,” she says. “She’s a woman who likes to be in control and when she’s not, she’s not happy.”

On the other hand, Sara gushes to Carina about tonight’s episode (215) and Aunt Jenna’s attitude towards Alaric and Elijah both. She also talks about the Sommers storyline and if she or Matt will learn the truth behind Mystic Falls by the end of the season. The full interview is up over at Zap2it.

People Magazine has a video interview with Canning where she explains her vampire obsession. She also reveals what supernatural creature she’d like to be. Watch the entire thing at People’s site.

And Assignment X had the chance to talk to Candice Accola. She spills up about Caroline in season 2, her friendship with Elena and Bonnie, what’s ahead for mother and daughter and more. Find an extract below and go here for the rest of the chat.

AX: It seems like Caroline still wants to maintain her friendships from high school with human Elena and witch Bonnie [Katerina Graham], though is the friendship with Bonnie still a struggle, with Bonnie being so anti-vampire?

ACCOLA: The relationships amongst the women on the show have gotten a little bit sidetracked throughout this season, just because, whether it’s romantic triangles or whether it’s [other problems], they’ve got their own personal dramas that they’re trying to figure out. In the episodes coming up, you will start to see the women leaning on each other a little bit more, which is a beautiful thing, because you need those friendships.

MTV’s Valentine video with Nina, more from Katerina’s Troix shoot + chats with Ian, Steven & Daniel

MTV recently caught up with Nina Dobrev to talk about Valentine’s Day.  She mentions Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” and her actual opinion on February 14th. Also, she speculates on how Elena and Katherine would celebrate it. Play the video to learn her answers and MTV has a short article. Thanks, Vampire-Diaries.net!

In addition to Katerina Graham’s cover for Troix, Vampire Diaries Web France has more from the shoot. Kat looks absolutely stunning, I’m speechless! There’s an interview with her featured in the magazine as well. Previews can be found below, head over to their site for more HQs (+ scans).

Finally, a bunch of chats have surfaced today. First, Daniel Gillies did an interview for TV Fanatic. He dishes about his character and the deal he made with Elena, Klaus (a.k.a. Joseph Morgan) as well as future projects. Visit their site for the entire interview.

Laura Prudom sat down with Ian Somerhalder to discuss all things “Vampire Diaries”. The hottie answers questions about emotional (and evil) Damon, his interactions with Andie and Jules and Damon’s part in the upcoming vampire-werewolf war. He also gives some scoop on episode 15 “The Dinner Party” (featuring flashbacks) and his Ian Somerhalder foundation. The full chat is available at TV Squad.

Mandi Bierly from EW goes to Steven R. McQueen for spoilers. And he doesn’t let us down either. Steven comments on Jeremy’s relationship with Bonnie and John Gilbert. Plus, he tells us whether we’ll see him by Damon’s side again any time soon. The article is up over at Inside TV.

Spoilers selection: Crying wolf promo, synopsis of 215 & 216, episode stills and more

TV Line has recently reported that the search for Klaus is finally over. The legendary vampire will be probably played by Joseph Morgan. As you can guess, this immediately became top “Vampire Diaries” news. Although the actor’s credits include mostly British films and TV series, he does have some intriguing roles. Back in 2003, he starred in “Master and Commander” along with Russell Crow. Morgan has also played Philotas in the biography movie about the life of Alexander the Great (starring Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie). Something about his face (right) reminds me of Klaus. I think he would make a fierce Original! What’s your opinion? Learn more over at TV Line.

Let’s continue with the tidbits, shall we? In this article, Natalie Abrams reviews the latest TVD spoilers from TV Guide. She comments on the showdown between vampires and werewolves, warlocks Martin, Jr. and Martin, Sr., Elena’s destiny, etc. Great recap, especially if you haven’t had a chance to caught up with the news lately!

TV Guide Magazine also highlights the top moments from “Daddy Issues” in its 7-13 February issue. As usual, spoiler warning for the ones, who haven’t seen the episode yet. HUGE thanks to tariel22 via @tvdfansonline, the scan is up at their site!

Clevver TV caught up with Stephen Amell’s (Brady) cousin, Robbie last week. He spills up about his cousin’s guest role on “The Vampire Diaries”, teasing he’s going be around for two episodes. It means 214 “Crying Wolf” is his final ep. Why is he gone after only two weeks? Are the Salvatore brothers to blame? That, we’ll see this Thursday. For now, enjoy Clevver TV’s report. Thanks, Vampire Diaries Online!

Official descriptions for episode 15 (“The Dinner Party”) and 16 (“The House Guest”) (click to visit VampireSite.net) have been released as well. Airing February 17th and February 24th, respectively.

In addition to “The Dinner Party” synopsis, episode stills have been revealed. Third flashback episode this season = plenty of Stefan and Damon. Head over to Vampire Diaries Web to check the images out.

CW television has uploaded an extended trailer for “Crying Wolf”. This week, “a romantic getaway is about to get some unwanted guests”. All new “The Vampire Diaries” Thursday 8/7c. See you there!
