Candice Accola interview goodness: Zap2it, TV Guide & Wetpaint

Candice Accola is not only a fan favourite, but reporter one. This past month, the blonde talked to various media about Caroline, her relationship with Matt and Tyler and what’s to come. Continue to read for the best snippets and visit the links above them for more.

Wetpaint Exclusive: Candice Accola – Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

Who would you prefer to date: a werewolf or a vamp?
This has nothing to do with who Caroline should date, but if I had to honestly answer that question, it would probably be a werewolf because I’d rather deal with just one night of the month than every single day of high-strung, potential death. You could deal with, like, one day a month he’s going to be an asshole. I think that’s doable.

Zap2it: ‘Vampire Diaries’ star Candice Accola: Will Caroline forgive Tyler? Plus, musical moments and birthday plans!

“What I love about Caroline’s arc this season is that she’s just gained so much perspective, which in turn has made her grow up so much,” Accola says. “Whereas before, throughout Season 1, I feel like Caroline would hold a grudge, [now she knows] she’s not perfect either. On her first night as a vampire she took advantage of a nurse and killed an innocent man. She’s killed and she’s asked to be forgiven, so she has it in her.”

Lisa Tucker cast as Greta, Paul & Joseph join Twitter + another guest star

The ever reliable Carina Mackenzie dropped a “Vampire” bombshell once again. A couple of days ago, she confirmed that Lisa Tucker has been cast as Luka’s sister. You may recognize her from the fifth season of the hit show “American Idol”. However, she made her debut as actress on “The O.C”. EW was the first to mention the character of Greta. Now, we have more scoop on the last Martin via Zap2it. She’s set to appear in two to four episodes, including the much anticipated finale. Read more below and visit Zap2it for the full article.

Greta is described as “cool, hip, smart,” and “a bit of a thrill-seeker.” Witches are going to play a huge part in the sacrifice and the Salvatores’ quest to kill Klaus, especially now that Jonas, with his dying breath, gave Bonnie (Katerina Graham) the tools to make the kill. Greta will appear in at least two episodes, but we’re hearing that she may actually appear in four — including the big finale.

I’m more than happy to tell you that not one, but two cast members have recently joined Twitter! First, Joseph Morgan (@_josephmorgan) made his current and future fans by creating an account. Paul Wesley (@paulwesley) himself followed “Klaus” and “succumbed to the lure” of the social network. They were both warmly welcome by TVD family (Paul made Twitter explode by gaining more than 100,000 followers in less than a week!). A bit of advice: go follow these two if you haven’t yet. You know you want to. 😉

Pittsburghlive.com interviewed Gino Anthony Pesi a few weeks ago. He’s one of the main supporting guys in “Battle: Los Angeles”, which has been released this month. In their chat, Pesi teases an upcoming role in “Vampire Diaries”. His character is a warlock named Maddox. There’s no current information on whose side he is or how long he will stick around. Anyway, he’d better NOT be killed. With that pretty face, it would be a great loss.

Currently, he’s working on something completely different — the CW Network’s “The Vampire Diaries.”

“My character is a guy named Maddox, and he’s a warlock. It’s kind of fun, because I basically hold up my hand and people go flying off walls.”

HEAD OVER TO TRIBLIVE FOR THE REST OF THE INTERVIEW.

Nina Dobrev covers Teen Vogue April 2011, Michael Trevino for Bello Magazine + Ian’s Vogue spread

Yes, I’m alive and terribly sorry for the recent lack of updates! Real life kept me busy and wouldn’t let me post. Fortunately, it’s all fine now, so I’m planning to catch up with all the news. So, expect many posts with in the next couple of days. I hope you haven’t forgotten me. 😉

Nina Dobrev has done a cover shoot for the latest issue of Teen Vogue. The magazine has some goodies for her fans, such as a 2-page interview and a behind the scenes peek. Nina comments on the difficulty of portraying Elena and Katherine, media attention, etc. And thanks to dailygleeks via ontd_tvdiaries for providing us with scans (you need to join the community in order to view posts). In case you don’t have a LiveJournal account, you can still enjoy the prettiness at Teen Vogue’s site.

Not that she’s complaining. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, but raised in Toronto, Nina landed her big break just out of high school in 2006 as teen mom Mia in Degrassi: The Next Generation and describes herself as your typical overachiever. “I wanted to be the jock, and I wanted to be a dancer and actress,” she says of her time at a competitive performing-arts high school in Toronto. “I was also a gymnast and very academically driven. I always had a lot on my plate and was really overwhelmed. Not much has changed—I’m constantly trying to one-up myself and raising the stakes.” She stops and smiles, adding, “Ha! No pun intended.”

Katerina Graham at 42nd NAACP Image Awards + Troix video interview

As Kat Graham tweeted, she attended the 42nd NAACP Image Awards yesterday. Besides supporting the winners, the actress presented at the event. Looking gorgeous while doing so, of course. You can find a couple of pictures below and head over to Katerina Graham Source for HQs.

And Troix Magazine offers a behind the scenes look at Katerina’s cover shoot. They talk about Atlanta, what’s ahead for Bonnie and her obsession with both acting and music. Play the video for 8 minutes with “Queen Kat”.

Paul Wesley featured in WWD Magazine, talks acting and Vampire Diaries

Paul Wesley is featured in Women’s Wear Daily today’s issue. Besides the awesome photoshoot, they had a nice, long talk. Excerpts can be found below. They discuss the vampire obsession giving through the generations, the success of the show, his character Stefan and more. Find the rest of the article as well as more photos at Lovely Sucks.

“Season one was incredibly taxing on me because I got a little too almost method and it got a little bit intense for me as far as affecting my personal being,” says Wesley (though obviously not literally method considering his character’s proclivities). “I’ve made a very conscientious decision to try not to take home what I do at work, which I was not really capable of at first. But I realized, this is a marathon, not a sprint, so I’m preparing myself for the long run.”

Zap2it: Carina interviews Zach Roerig, Celebrity Scoop with Candice

Carina Mackenzie let her feelings for Zach Roerig’s Matt loose in a recent article. In it, she defends the blue-eyed character. You can’t deny there has been a lot of antipathy against him lately. Carina does her best to show us Matt in his best light. With a little help from Zach, of course. I completely agree with them, don’t you? See the video chat below and read the entire story (and take the final exam) at Zap2it.

Candice Accola sat down with a Zap2it reporter, too. This time, it’s John Crook. She talks about Caroline’s journey as a teen and a vampire both, the progress she has been making this season and more. Read an excerpt and go here to get more scoop.

“The writers have just taken the show to a new level this season, and it’s been so great to be a part of it,” she says. “I think it’s great to play someone who is in her teens, because that is a time in your life when everything is changing. It’s the very beginning of the journey we call life, and you’re making mistakes and trying things out, and there’s a constant learning experience.

Part one and two of Reuters discussion with Ian Somerhalder

Q: What’s in store for your character, Damon?

This season is a different situation for Damon. Damon has fun anyway, but he’s been humbled a little bit, to say the least, by virtue of what happened with Katherine. I think this year, there’s some other elements in town that’s forced Damon to work a little harder and actually get over the things that have hurt him and protect the things that he cares about…He realizes throughout this year that he’s forged relationships and when you forge relationships with people, you have something to lose and something to protect and I think that’s where Damon finds himself. This year, Damon is not having quite as much fun – yet.

Thanks for the heads up, Vampire-Diaries.net!

Transcript of “The Vampire Diaries” Melbourne convention: “We’re the luckiest kids in Hollywood.”

Nina Dobrev’s panel:

Q: Stefan or Damon?
N: Defan – the other brother.

Q: You were in The American Mall…
N: It was a musical movie, it was really crazy. It was three weeks of singing and dancing. Really fun!

Q: Do you like the flashbacks on The Vampire Diaries?
N: They’re my favourite! It’s a rare opportunity to find a cool character that you love. Somebody dresses me – it’s like Halloween. Lots of fun.

Q: Did you have lots of (dance) training in The American Mall and the Miss Mystic Falls episode in The Vampire Diaries?
N: We had a dance instructor. Paul (Wesley) was terrified at first.

Q: How did you get into acting?
N: I had a dance background. I was a really hyper kid – my parents put me in classes. I love gymnastics and I took courses to be on stage/dance. I got an agent.

Ian Somerhalder talks to GQ UK about “The Vampire Diaries” season 2

Ian Somerhalder is, in the words of his Twitter bio, “Dead guy on Lost, now undead on The Vampire Diaries“. But unlike his more chaste Twilight brethren, his character in the zeitgeist TV series – the Beethoven-listening, fine wine-drinking, Bacchanalian bloodsucker Damon Salvatore – has all the fun that being an experienced 170-year-old in an eternally youthful body can afford. Here Somerhalder talks exclusively to GQ.com about basing Damon on Cary Grant and Mick Jagger, the decibel level of his devoted female offline followers and the rumours about Stephenie Meyer’s The Host…

The Vampire Diaries season one is available to download now on iTunes and Blinkbox. The DVD is out on 23 August.
