KSiteTV and Zap2it’s reviews of The Last Day (220)

In case you don’t know, there was a press screening of tonight’s “The Last Day” at The CW yesterday. After it, Julie Plec and some “Vampire Diaries” cast members (Steven, Kat, Michael, Joseph and Daniel) sat down to discuss the episode. Lots of reporters attended, including Craig Byrne and Natalie Abrams. Check out their thoughts below and come back tomorrow for a master post with interviews.

TV Guide: 6 Reasons Why You Should Watch Vampire Diaries This Week

5. Klaus needs to hunt down his ritual shopping list items: The ritual, as we’ve heard before, needs a witch, a vampire, a doppelganger and a werewolf. Conveniently, the ritual coincides with the return of Tyler (Michael Trevino) to Mystic Falls. Even if you think you know who will fill each of those positions, you’re wrong — dead wrong.

KSiteTV: Advance Review: The Vampire Diaries “The Last Day”

Oh wait. No I haven’t said enough. One MORE thing: There’s more than one “I-did-not-see-that-coming” moment tonight. That’s probably to be expected from TVD, but just be warned. What you think will happen, is probably not what is going to happen. I credit the Vampire Diaries writing team with keeping it real and having the ability to surprise us constantly.

The Last Day (220) extended trailer, Mystic Diaries with Nina & Matt

CWtelevision uploaded short and extended version of “The Last Day” promo on YouTube yesterday. I have posted the longer one, which contains quite big spoilers. And when I say big, I mean it. You’d better not watch if you don’t want to spoil the surprise. They swore they’d do anything to keep her safe, but will they manage to?

Vodpod videos no longer available.

New “Vampire Diaries” episode, new Mystic Diaries videos. This time, they’re recorded by Matt Davis and Nina Dobrev (can’t get enough of her, can you?). Paul, Ian, Sara and Katerina also star. Click on the screencaps below to watch the videos over at cwtv.com (you, too, international fans!).

More from Kat Graham and Julie Plec: Tonight’s “Know Thy Enemy”, characters’ returns & deaths + the countdown to Klaus begins

One more interview with Katerina has surfaced today, this time with E! Online. She dishes about the Sacrifice, what lengths Bonnie is willing to go for Elena to and her romance with Jeremy. Continue to read to learn who the new witch in town is, the rest of the article can be found at Watch with Kristin.

We’re not sure we love that ominous answer and it certainly didn’t put us at ease, but maybe the addition of a new witch in Mystic Falls will help fight evil and keep Bonnie living to see another day (and another season). “Lisa Tucker, who plays Greta, Jonas’ daughter, is coming to town, which is really exciting. Another witch on the scene! I’m always for more witches. The more witches the better,” Graham tells us.

Inside TV has recently sat down with Julie Plec to talk about all things “Vampire Diaries”. The writer spills up about almost every character’s storyline, including Damon’s, Caroline’s and Isobel’s. She also discusses tonight’s episode, next Mystic Falls’ full moon and the season finale.

“He [Morgan] has a depth and an intelligence as an actor, but he’s also got this great wicked grin and these dimples that make him seem both fun and naughty at the same time, even as he’s being evil or very stern,” Plec says. “So there’s a playfulness about him that Kevin and I really liked because we didn’t want Klaus to be a one-note bad guy. The more layers that we can bring to the character, the more successful the character’s gonna be, and Joseph seems to have the ability to do all that.” (Plec says he’s also read all the L.J. Smith books upon which the series is based, and has not only done his research on Klaus, but also the vampire canon and lore in general.)

Interview round-up: New promo videos, LA Times chats with Julie, Candice’s reveals to EW & MTV + more

Even though the show is on too-long hiatus this month, we can’t complain of lack of interviews. Various reporters have talked to the cast lately, such as Show Tracker, Zap2it‘s Carina Mackenzie and Hollywood Crush. We gathered all the articles in one post for your sanity. Check out the best quotes below and click on the links for the entire stories. And if you’d like to ask the writers a question yourself, head over to Vampire Diaries’ official Facebook page.

PopWrap: Dawn Olivieri: You never really die on ‘Vampire Diaries’

PW: Right, especially when that choice involves suffering from a fictional malady.
Dawn: Totally. What’s funny to me is that the writers are really showing what it’s doing to Damon. In season one, he was compelling Vicki and it became disastrous. He may have entered this situation thinking it could be a similar case, but it’s turning out much differently for Damon, which has been an interesting turn. He’s not just able to shrug her off like he thought he could. I can’t wait for you guys to see episode 19 – there’s a lot of Andie and Damon in that one. Some big things go down.

Show Tracker: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Remembering the dead with executive producer Julie Plec

That constant dark cloud over Mystic Falls means no one is safe forever, not even the show’s main trio of Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). “I think that there are people who are safe for quite a long time,” Plec says. “But the rule always applies. Anything can happen at any time, and not everybody’s going to like it, and not everyone’s going to be happy about it.” While Elena, Stefan and Damon are probably not going anywhere soon, it does seem likely there will be more casualties when the series returns April 7. “I think we’ve got about 20 characters working at this point. Yes, there will be a percentage of them that will not make it to season three.”

TV Guide talks to David & Kevin, Sara Canning supports Teens for Jeans + still hope for Damon and Elena?

Thanks to @IHeartTVD for the heads up that Sara was at Aeropostale to support Teens for Jeans. It’s a campaign that collects jeans for homeless teens. Mega Buzz‘s latest spoiler chat features some “Vampire Diaries” as well. With the recent Damon events, Delena fans haven’t been very happy. But according to Julie Plec herself, they shouldn’t lose hope. She says, “There are big moments coming up all around for them [Stefan, Elena and Damon].” Get more scoop over at TV Guide.

Kevin Williamson and David Anders stopped by TV Guide, too. David’s interview with Robyn Ross stars with an upcoming Elena line saying, “Why does everything John touches fall apart?”. The actor claims his character wants only good for his daughter, though. He also teases the reason for his return will be revealed within the next five episodes or so. And if you’re curious to know who might pay a surprise visit to Mystic Falls, just continue to read (highlight for spoilers). Head over to TV Guide for the entire story.

Will daddy and daughter make up? Anders teases that Elena’s familial web will only get more tangled in the coming weeks. “There might be a surprise visit from Isobel,” he says.

Damian Holbrook posted his chat with Kevin yesterday, too. The executive producer talks about last night’s “Crying Wolf” in particular. As the ones who watched the episode know, “S–t goes down.” Go here to find out why.

Siding with the furrier folks in town could come with a hefty price — especially for a certain Salvatore in possession of that mysterious moonstone — but given the shaky state of his relationship with Caroline, young Mr. Lockwood doesn’t really have a pack of options. “He doesn’t know whom to trust because Caroline lied to him about everything,” says Williamson. “He’s very lonely and vulnerable, but he’s also an aggressive guy, so he may not respond appropriately.”

MTV’s Valentine video with Nina, more from Katerina’s Troix shoot + chats with Ian, Steven & Daniel

MTV recently caught up with Nina Dobrev to talk about Valentine’s Day.  She mentions Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” and her actual opinion on February 14th. Also, she speculates on how Elena and Katherine would celebrate it. Play the video to learn her answers and MTV has a short article. Thanks, Vampire-Diaries.net!

In addition to Katerina Graham’s cover for Troix, Vampire Diaries Web France has more from the shoot. Kat looks absolutely stunning, I’m speechless! There’s an interview with her featured in the magazine as well. Previews can be found below, head over to their site for more HQs (+ scans).

Finally, a bunch of chats have surfaced today. First, Daniel Gillies did an interview for TV Fanatic. He dishes about his character and the deal he made with Elena, Klaus (a.k.a. Joseph Morgan) as well as future projects. Visit their site for the entire interview.

Laura Prudom sat down with Ian Somerhalder to discuss all things “Vampire Diaries”. The hottie answers questions about emotional (and evil) Damon, his interactions with Andie and Jules and Damon’s part in the upcoming vampire-werewolf war. He also gives some scoop on episode 15 “The Dinner Party” (featuring flashbacks) and his Ian Somerhalder foundation. The full chat is available at TV Squad.

Mandi Bierly from EW goes to Steven R. McQueen for spoilers. And he doesn’t let us down either. Steven comments on Jeremy’s relationship with Bonnie and John Gilbert. Plus, he tells us whether we’ll see him by Damon’s side again any time soon. The article is up over at Inside TV.

Spoilers selection: Crying wolf promo, synopsis of 215 & 216, episode stills and more

TV Line has recently reported that the search for Klaus is finally over. The legendary vampire will be probably played by Joseph Morgan. As you can guess, this immediately became top “Vampire Diaries” news. Although the actor’s credits include mostly British films and TV series, he does have some intriguing roles. Back in 2003, he starred in “Master and Commander” along with Russell Crow. Morgan has also played Philotas in the biography movie about the life of Alexander the Great (starring Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie). Something about his face (right) reminds me of Klaus. I think he would make a fierce Original! What’s your opinion? Learn more over at TV Line.

Let’s continue with the tidbits, shall we? In this article, Natalie Abrams reviews the latest TVD spoilers from TV Guide. She comments on the showdown between vampires and werewolves, warlocks Martin, Jr. and Martin, Sr., Elena’s destiny, etc. Great recap, especially if you haven’t had a chance to caught up with the news lately!

TV Guide Magazine also highlights the top moments from “Daddy Issues” in its 7-13 February issue. As usual, spoiler warning for the ones, who haven’t seen the episode yet. HUGE thanks to tariel22 via @tvdfansonline, the scan is up at their site!

Clevver TV caught up with Stephen Amell’s (Brady) cousin, Robbie last week. He spills up about his cousin’s guest role on “The Vampire Diaries”, teasing he’s going be around for two episodes. It means 214 “Crying Wolf” is his final ep. Why is he gone after only two weeks? Are the Salvatore brothers to blame? That, we’ll see this Thursday. For now, enjoy Clevver TV’s report. Thanks, Vampire Diaries Online!

Official descriptions for episode 15 (“The Dinner Party”) and 16 (“The House Guest”) (click to visit VampireSite.net) have been released as well. Airing February 17th and February 24th, respectively.

In addition to “The Dinner Party” synopsis, episode stills have been revealed. Third flashback episode this season = plenty of Stefan and Damon. Head over to Vampire Diaries Web to check the images out.

CW television has uploaded an extended trailer for “Crying Wolf”. This week, “a romantic getaway is about to get some unwanted guests”. All new “The Vampire Diaries” Thursday 8/7c. See you there!

Interview round-up: IGN chats with Nina and Candice, Ian talks to PopWrap + TV Line & more

First of all, I’m SO terribly sorry I haven’t been around lately. With the end of the term, I had no time to surf the Internet. I also had some health problems, so it was impossible for me to post.
