More and more interviews continue to pop up. This week, they have been mostly of Ms. Dobrev. They can be all found below and follow the links for the whole stories. Nina opens up about her “Vampire Diaries” co-stars, the characters she plays and the last two episodes of season 2. There are some pretty spoilery segments, so beware!
• Fans are talking about chemistry between Elena and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Should we be? “We can obviously tell that there was something between Elijah and Katherine, and there is now something sort of building between Elena and Elijah. Is it the same thing that’s been going on with every guy who’s encountered Elena after having survived Katherine?” Dobrev asks. (She has no answer.) “It’s funny,” she says. “Daniel Gillies is such a sweetheart, and he’s so amazing and so funny, and we’re really, really good friends, so we have a lot of fun on set. That kind of chemistry and friendship definitely can be caught on camera. I’m glad that it plays.”
“Paul Sommers is directing it,” Nina said. “And Paul Sommers is our director of photography, so he’s done every episode since the beginning, except the pilot. So it’s his directorial debut. And it’s really cool and we’re really excited for him.”
The same day, Hollywood Crush has also caught up with the actress. It’s the first interview of her chatting about “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, her latest project. She discusses the script, the cast (Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, etc.) and the movie itself. Go here for the entire article.
Wonder how many viewers tuned in this past Thursday? Actually, they were just as many as last week. Maybe Bonnie has made some kind of spell? LOL. Don’t forget season three is a go. Let’s show our support for the show in the upcoming weeks, everyone!
The CW’s Vampire Diaries was even with last week’s 1.2 adults 18-49 ratings, while Nikita was down two tenths (25%) to a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating.
This season’s finale is coming closer and closer. The closer we get, the more chats surface. As we wrote yesterday, there was a press screening of last night’s episode on Wednesday. Most of the stories contain major spoilers for it (as well as the rest of the season), so I advise you not to read them unless you’ve seen it. This time, I decided to post just links to the articles since there are plenty of them and I feel like you’ll get a headache if there are segments from each one.
In case you don’t know, there was a press screening of tonight’s “The Last Day” at The CW yesterday. After it, Julie Plec and some “Vampire Diaries” cast members (Steven, Kat, Michael, Joseph and Daniel) sat down to discuss the episode. Lots of reporters attended, including Craig Byrne and Natalie Abrams. Check out their thoughts below and come back tomorrow for a master post with interviews.
5. Klaus needs to hunt down his ritual shopping list items: The ritual, as we’ve heard before, needs a witch, a vampire, a doppelganger and a werewolf. Conveniently, the ritual coincides with the return of Tyler (Michael Trevino) to Mystic Falls. Even if you think you know who will fill each of those positions, you’re wrong — dead wrong.
Oh wait. No I haven’t said enough. One MORE thing: There’s more than one “I-did-not-see-that-coming” moment tonight. That’s probably to be expected from TVD, but just be warned. What you think will happen, is probably not what is going to happen. I credit the Vampire Diaries writing team with keeping it real and having the ability to surprise us constantly.
The Seven has been to the “Vampire Diaries” set this month. While there, Candice Accola gave them a quick tour of Caroline’s house. The episode in which she stars aired yesterday. You can see her part below, many thanks to MTV for uploading!
As The CW Blog has recently reported, “The Vampire Diaries” is one of the network’s early pick-ups for the 2011-2012 season. Thought that’s not a surprise considering it’s its top-rated drama. “America’s Next Top Model”, “Gossip Girl, “90210” and “Supernatural” are also set to return next fall. Read The CW’s full press release over at their site.
The CW’s bloodily addictive hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES was also given an early renewal, and in its sophomore season, remains the network’s most-watched show (4.0 million viewers) and the network’s number-one show among its target audience of women 18-34 (2.9/9).
In case you don’t know, Seventeen Magazine has brought out a special fitness issue. And who more suitable to cover it than Nina Dobrev? As she teased on KTLA this morning, Nina is Seventeen’s May cover girl and dazzles us all with her 24 carat smile and fine body. In her interview for the magazine, the actress also shares the secret of her perfect shape and tips how to be comfortable in your own skin. Check it all out (along with exclusive outtakes) at Seventeen Magazine’s site. There’s a behind the scenes video as well, which you can see after the pictures. Credit for the cover goes to the lovely Hollywood Crush.
Hollywood Crush has recently met Dawn Olivieri, the actress who plays Andie Star. They chat about the reporter, her relationship with Damon and Elena being jealous (or is she?). Watch the video below and go to MTV for more “Vampire” stories.

Plus, THR has posted part two of their interview with Kevin Williamson. In it, the writer denies any crossovers between “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Secret Circle”. There have been some rumors about it on the Net, but apparently, they’re NOT true. Kevin also points out the similarities and differences between the two shows.
“You’ll watch us build another mythology based on L.J. Smith’s books that will become as twisty and turny as The Vampire Diaries [is] but with a whole new story,” Williamson explains. “There’s an epic love story that we hint at in the pilot that is going to blow up about two soulmates. It’s not as violent as The Vampire Diaries or as scary.”
Nina Dobrev and Joseph Morgan have made appearances on various morning shows today. First, Nina was on PIX Morning News. She spilled up about the show, its second season finale and both characters she played. Her latest role as Seventeen Magazine’s cover girl was also mentioned. You can read Shelley Nig’s article at PIX’s site.

On the other hand, the real Klaus (you know what I mean) stopped by KTLA Morning News. He dished on his “Vampire Diaries” audition, playing the Original, his previous credits and more. Play the video below to see more from Joseph’s short hair-do (more than in last episode, at least).
