New Nina outtakes & quotes from Flare, Kelly Hu attends various events

Oh Nina Dobrev has found a new outtake (pictured) from the actress’s John Bregar photoshoot. She did it back in 2008. Find more Bregar’s photography at his official site.

Nina-Dobrev.org has new photos of Nina as well. This time, they’re from her Seventeen Magazine spread. She looks absolutely fabulous! Enjoy the 86 (no, I’m not mistaken) images in Nina-Dobrev.org’s gallery. Previous outtakes can be found here.

Thanks to TV Examiner for this excerpt from Nina Dobrev’s chat with Flare. She discusses The Vampire Diaries’ Katherine and her slow (but sure) turning into a vampire. We recently posted a behind the scenes video and outtakes from the actress’s cover shoot for the magazine. For more of the interview itself, pick up Flare’s February issue.

“I really admire the fact that Katherine looks out for herself. I think you need to have a selfish period in life, where you discover yourself. My work is so demanding and the hours are so long and the [material] so heavy. In the off-time I have I’m sort of selfish. I stay home and I sleep a lot. I’m actually slowly becoming a vampire.”

Like her co-star, Kelly Hu has kept herself busy, too. She was at The Access Hollywood “Stuff You Must…” Lounge as well as BAFTA Los Angeles 17th Annual Awards Season Tea Party. Check out some photos below. The full sets can be found over at Blood Falls and Daylife. Have I mentioned how beautiful she is? Miss you, Kelly!

Ian Somerhalder chats to Movieline and Young Hollywood Studios

Movieline interviewed Ian Somerhalder last week and we now have their interview. The actor talks about Damon, his early career and his interest in charity. Find some quotes below and visit Movieline for the rest of the story.

My favorite part of Vampire Diaries are the flashbacks. Is there a time or place that you would really like to see Damon explore?
I think the Twenties would have been a phenomenal time for Damon. It would be really cool to see him in some Speakeasy, sipping bourbon with some amazing turn-of-the-century character like Buddy Bolden. Or I could see Damon in the Sixties having an affair with Marilyn Monroe or Kate Hepburn.

A few weeks ago, Ian Somerhalder was at Young Hollywood Studios. After a long waiting, they finally released the video. Thanks to Vampire Diaries Online for the heads up! By the way, the site’s back on the radar, so check it out!

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Yesterday, Ian announced he had a pheumonia which you can notice in the video above. Support him and be sure to send your well wishes! Take care, Ian!

The final part of WetPaint Q&A with Julie Plec: “I’m Team Brother.”

At home are you Team Damon or Team Stefan?
Julie: This is so lame but I’m genuinely, honestly, truly Team Both for a lot of reasons. I think that what Stefan brings in terms of intensity and force and weight and soul is so important to the show. And I think watching Damon’s journey from villain to hero to anti hero back to villain back to hero, the cyclical nature of Damon’s character is so fascinating to me. So I’ve got to go Team 50-50. Sorry.

Keck’s Exclusives: Who’s Moving Into Mystic Falls?

By the end of the season, HBO’s True Blood left Bon Temps infested with vampires, werewolves, werepanthers, shape shifters, shamans, fairies and witches. I asked the cast of The Vampire Diaries, which is bringing werewolves to Mystic Falls, what other creatures they’d like to see terrorize their town.

Ian Somerhalder (Damon): “Morena Baccarin’s lizard alien from V. If a lizard that hot showed up, Damon would definitely have to have a bite.”

Nina Dobrev (Elena): “A dragon from Harry Potter. The fire they breathe out could kill our vampires.”

Paul Wesley (Stefan): “Steven McQueen could turn into a unicorn overnight.”

Drama with a Bite

‘The Vampire Diaries’ was one of the most popular shows on TV in the States last year and it’s finally reached our shores.

The RTÉ Guide’s Janice Butler caught up with Nina and Paul at the Monte Carlo TV Festival to get all the juicy details from the show.

Janice Butler: Taking into consideration the name of the show, do you keep a diary yourself?

Nina Dobrev: No! I barely have time to sleep at night so I haven’t had a chance to keep a journal. I did write in a diary on and off and I wish that I continued to do it. It’s so funny looking back on them and at the time the smallest thing seemed so grave and important.

JB: Why do you think the vampire genre has become such a phenomenon?

ND: The vampire symbols a lot of different things. They used to be depicted as ugly and terrifying but now women are throwing themselves at them and want to be bitten! The vampire is like the outcast, the person that doesn’t fit in – everyone just wants to be loved and accepted.

Full T4 interview with Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder

Teaser of it was released a few days ago. Now we can watch the full version. The three Vampire Diaries leads discuss the show, the comparisons between Vampire Diaries and Twilight (again), vampire biting (Ian actually bites the anchorwoman! What a lucky girl, huh?) and more.

‘Vampire Diaries’ Paul Wesley Teases: Katherine Is Capable of Pulling Stefan Away From Elena

Vodpod videos no longer available.

With all the hooplah surrounding Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) feelings for Katherine (Nina Dobrev) on “Vampire Diaries”, it’s sometimes easy to forget that he wasn’t the only Salvatore brother to fall prey to her charms.

While Stefan (Paul Wesley) may claim to be madly in love with Elena, once upon a time he only had eyes for her…um, look-alike. So obviously, we couldn’t help but wonder how Katherine’s return would affect him. Our interest was really peaked though when we caught a season two preview clip at Comic-Con, in which Katherine tells Stefan she loves him, only to stab him right after (hey, love hurts right?).

“So, she tells me she loves me and then stabs me — what’s going on there?,” Paul said. That’s what we’d like to know!

‘The Vampire Diaries’ stars talk fans, flashbacks and crossovers

The CW’s breakout supernatural hit ‘The Vampire Diaries’ not only has a strong cult following in America but also in Europe, as TV Squad discovered when speaking with stars Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder at the 2010 Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

Sitting down as a trio, the stars spoke to the press about social media, their adoring fans, their enjoyment of period piece work within the modern show and crossover potential. There’s plenty of life in this undead show, which returns this fall for a second season.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ has a very devout following. How much attention do you pay to social media and what a lot of the fans are talking about?
Ian Somerhalder: There’s a lot of it. It’s pretty phenomenal. We don’t get to view too much of it. It could actually be problematic to soak all that in. We tend to be saturated with the mythology in and of itself.
Paul Wesley: I think it’s a mistake to follow that too much. It’s good to be aware of it. I don’t know. To a certain extent, we’re in Atlanta, we’re excluded and we do our thing 14 hours a day, so we don’t have much exposure to it. That’s the truth and the reality of it.
Nina Dobrev: But also, minus the killing and the blood, we don’t sleep during the nighttime hours. We work at night and sleep during the day. Thankfully we don’t have a lot of time to go on the Internet and read all that stuff. Everyone has an opinion, and a lot of it is very positive, but there’s so much out there, and it’s hard to please everyone.
