E! Online’s green interview with Ian: “We could really move mountains.”

April 22nd was not only Good Friday, but Earth Day. In honour of this date, E! Online has recently sat down with Ian Somerhalder to talk about all things green. The actor dishes about his foundation, people’s part in it and what we can do to help. Read a snippet here and visit Marc Malkin’s blog for the rest.

“There are many people in and around this business whom are making strides to be greener,” he says when asked about eco-efforts in Hollywood. “We can always do more…The film business creates a large amount of waste, and I’m not immune to waste in the business.

MTV’s Valentine video with Nina, more from Katerina’s Troix shoot + chats with Ian, Steven & Daniel

MTV recently caught up with Nina Dobrev to talk about Valentine’s Day.  She mentions Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” and her actual opinion on February 14th. Also, she speculates on how Elena and Katherine would celebrate it. Play the video to learn her answers and MTV has a short article. Thanks, Vampire-Diaries.net!

In addition to Katerina Graham’s cover for Troix, Vampire Diaries Web France has more from the shoot. Kat looks absolutely stunning, I’m speechless! There’s an interview with her featured in the magazine as well. Previews can be found below, head over to their site for more HQs (+ scans).

Finally, a bunch of chats have surfaced today. First, Daniel Gillies did an interview for TV Fanatic. He dishes about his character and the deal he made with Elena, Klaus (a.k.a. Joseph Morgan) as well as future projects. Visit their site for the entire interview.

Laura Prudom sat down with Ian Somerhalder to discuss all things “Vampire Diaries”. The hottie answers questions about emotional (and evil) Damon, his interactions with Andie and Jules and Damon’s part in the upcoming vampire-werewolf war. He also gives some scoop on episode 15 “The Dinner Party” (featuring flashbacks) and his Ian Somerhalder foundation. The full chat is available at TV Squad.

Mandi Bierly from EW goes to Steven R. McQueen for spoilers. And he doesn’t let us down either. Steven comments on Jeremy’s relationship with Bonnie and John Gilbert. Plus, he tells us whether we’ll see him by Damon’s side again any time soon. The article is up over at Inside TV.

Kat Graham covers Troix Magazine, JJ’s exclusive interview with Ian + Damon’s trying to get back to “normal”

Thanks to Vampire Diaries Online for the heads up that Katerina is one of Troix Magazine’s “lethal ladies” this month. The issue is dedicated to upcoming Valentine’s Day and the actress talks about her perfect Valentine. For more from Troix, follow them on Facebook.

Just Jared has just posted their exclusive interview with Ian Somerhalder. They chat about Damon’s new love interest, the Curse and his foundation. You can find an extract here, visit Just Jared for more.

JJ: Executive producer Julie Plec teased, “We have this impending ritual, the sacrifice that will break the curse of the sun and the moon — that’s where we’ll end our season”. Can you talk or hint a little bit about that?
IS: It’s funny because we get our scripts just a couple of days before. I know that there’s going to be a pretty sizable showdown between the werewolves and vampires and I can’t imagine Klaus not showing up after all this talk. So I don’t know, I can only imagine the way I see things going so there will be a big showdown, its a problem. Damon forged these relationships, found himself caring in places and times when its very intermediate, but I think protecting Elena and his home from one entity that’s more powerful or could possibly kill him is enough. Protecting her too is very difficult and it’s wearing on him and the couple is starting feel emotional and start not being able to understand how to grapple with all this emotion, it’s really tough.

As we tweeted this morning, the show is featured in E! Online‘s Kristin latest spoiler chat. A fan asked her if Damon would stop drinking blood straight from the source. Here’s what she had to say:

Wendy: As hot as angry Damon is on The Vampire Diaries, I have a soft spot for good Damon. Tell me he chills out in upcoming episodes.
Well, he’s going to try. Ian Somerhalder promises us that much. “He’s trying his damnest to keep it together,” he tells us. At least Damon knows he’s miserable. So, that’s step one, right?

Ian thanks fans for birthday wishes and foundation support, Isobel’s probable return

Catalina Walsh at KTLA was among the reporters chatted to Somerhalder on his birthday. In this video, Ian thanks us, his fans, for all the birthday wishes and support to his Ian Somerhalder Foundation. Thanks to Vampire Diaries Online for bringing this to our attention!

Vodpod videos no longer available.

And TV Guide‘s Mega Buzz gave some love to “Vampire Diaries” this week. Adam and Natalie tease that Isobel will possibly come back in the near future. What’s confirmed is that we’ll soon get answers to the questions “Where she is right now, what she’s doing and whose side she’s on”. Here’s what Julie had to say:

Any chance Isobel (Mia Kirshner) will return on Vampire Diaries— Heather
Yes! Elena’s malevolent-hot birth mother will be back to share her wealth of vampire knowledge. Maybe. “Isobel has a lot of information and will continue to be useful for that information,” executive producer Julie Plec tells us. “Where she is right now, what she’s doing and whose side she’s on — those questions start to get asked very soon.” (She’s also not the only birth parent returning to town.)

TV Guide on the Vampire Diaries set, more on Damon’s bathtub scene

While visiting the set of “The Vampire Diaries” a few days ago, Robyn Ross sat down with Julie Plec to talk about the show and the books. The producer and writer comments on Damon’s feathered friend, his relationship with Bonnie, Elena and Stefan’s journals and a Ms. Gilbert and Matt flashback. Basically, the article says what (probably) will and won’t make it to TV. Wonderful read for books fans!

Will Damon and Bonnie grow closer?
Vampires and witches are notoriously enemies, but in Season 2, Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Damon eventually teamed up to fight the bigger fight. The question is whether or not they will take it a step further and develop the close bond they do in the novels. Plec understands that theirs is a relationship important to book fans, but says, for now, they’ll just remain frenemies. “The fun we have with them right now is [going] from two people who have absolutely no respect, admiration or love for each other, whatsoever, but because they share a common goal and share common loves, they come together and are willing to put their differences aside and work together.”

The entire interview – over at TV Guide.

Also, Ian Somerhalder tells People how he spent his 32nd birthday. You curious? Well, he spent it “naked with a beautiful girl”. Not bad! Plus, you can find some more tidbits on his character’s upcoming bathtub scene. Read an excerpt and head over to People for the rest.

“I was naked with a beautiful girl all day,” the star of The Vampire Diaries, who turned 32 on Dec. 8, tells PEOPLE. “I had a shower scene that led into another scene were I was kind of half-naked and wet.”

Though Somerhalder does confirm he was on the set of his hit CW show, he wouldn’t say whether his character, the scumbag vampire Damon, finally scored with Elena, who is played by Nina Dobrev and definitely qualifies as a beautiful girl.

EW chats to Somerhalder, Zap2it’s video interview with Michael, Candice & Ian

Even though Ian Somerhalder turned 32 yesterday, it looks like this guy just can’t catch a break. He had an interview with Entertainment Weekly about Damon’s humanity, his love for Stefan and Ian Somerhalder Foundation. Visit Inside TV for the full article.

What can he tell us about the Salvatore Brothers’ relationship in this episode? ”Stefan is locked in that cave. In all actuality, it’s kind of what Damon’s been dreaming about. But truthfully, Damon wants to get his brother out of there. He’s gonna try really hard, once he works out what he needs to work out. As much as he wants to kill his brother sometimes, he loves him. Damon can’t imagine being stuck in that cave with Katherine. That would just suck. There’s such a commonality of pain between these two guys. They’re in love with the same two women. Two of them — it’s absurd. [Laughs] And the protagonists that have come to town, they mean business. They’re gonna wreak some havoc, and they’re gonna cause some problems for us, that’s for sure.”

You’ve probably noticed that with the “Vampire Diaries” mid-season finale tonight, more and more chats have popped up. The stars in this one are Michael Trevino, Candice Accola and Ian Somerhalder – all interviewed by the wonderful Carina Mackenzie. They talk about their experience filming “By the Light of the Moon” in particular. Tyler’s journey from a bully to this strong person, Marcos Siega’s return and Mason’s friend, Jules are also mentioned. I love this quote from Ian:

Ian Somerhalder says that the heart of Tyler’s story is whether or not he can step up, accept his fate, and do what it takes to protect his home and his family. “Or what’s left of his family, the poor guy,” Somerhalder adds. “We killed his dad, we killed his uncle. I think we need to figure out, first of all, what Tyler wants. My guess, hopefully, is that he realizes that this is his home. This is where it all started and where it should end.”

Ian Somerhalder talks to E! Online and Hollywood Crush

Watch With Kristin‘s Ian interview has surfaced today, thanks to Vampire-Diaries.net for the heads up! The actor opens up about plenty of things, including the show keeps getting better and better, the steamy scene between You-Know-Who in this week’s episode and more.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Hollywood Crush‘s Nuzhat Naoreen talked on the phone with Mr. Somerhalder this morning. He dishes about his foundation and mentions a bathtub scene (you still breathing?). You can find a quote below and head over to Hollywood Crush for the entire article. Also, stay tuned for more tidbits on tomorrow’s episode!

“I’m just asking people to help me with this because I know it’s a tough time right now, but the reality of it is that I’m putting all my eggs in this basket because what this foundation is going to do is literally make things better, and that’s all that matters to me right now.”

Ian Somerhalder on his foundation, new Kevin Williamson’s project is in the works

Zap2it‘s Carina Mackenzie (follow her on Twitter) had a chat with Ian Somerhalder yesterday. This time, they discuss his newly represented “Ian Somerhalder Foundation”. The actor talks about his future (environmental) projects and gives information how you can help. It’s a really interesting read, so check it out! Read an excerpt below and head over to Zap2it for the entire story.

“I don’t want to be the guy who sets up fantasy dinners and asks a bunch of rich people for money,” says Somerhalder. “I just don’t know that world, I don’t relate to it, and I don’t want to. It’s so much easier for a million people to donate a little tiny bit, then to get 100 people to donate a lot. What’s really exciting for me in the inspiration realm, is to see kids, people who are going through a rough time or people who have found a tough spot they can’t get out of – to see them become inspired again. It’s the best feeling in the world.”

So how can you help? Visit ISFoundation.com to find out how you can donate to the birthday campaign. If you’re not in the position to donate or if you’re looking for other ways to help, follow @IS_Foundation and @iansomerhalder on Twitter and spread the word by telling your friends, blogging, and Facebooking about the cause. Join the revolution for a greener, brighter future!

Also, according to Deadline, executive producer Kevin Williamson is developing “companion” series for Vampire Diaries. The project is described as “The X-Files meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. As rumored, Julie Plec is in talks to join Williamson as well. Nothing has been confirmed yet, though.

Vampire Diaries co-creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson is working on a new supernatural drama project, envisioned as a potential companion for the CW’s flagship vampire drama. The untitled project, which is in early stages of development at Warner Bros. TV for the CW, is described as “The X-Files meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” It focuses on a group of people who investigate paranormal happenings.
