Zap2it’s first look at Joseph Morgan as Klaus

HUGE thanks to Zap2it for releasing the first still of the highly anticipated Klaus. It’s from same-titled episode 19, where Joseph Morgan makes his debut. Even though it shows him (along with good old Elijah and Katherine’s back) back in 1491, it’s more than enough to whet our appetite. Read Zap2it‘s article at their site.

Klaus (219) episode description + first look, EW’s sneak peek at The Last Dance

The summary of probably the most anticipated episode this season came out last night. It’s titled “Klaus” and airs Thursday, April 21st. That’s when the Original will come out of the dark, as Ausiello teased in February. And guess what? Apart from Klaus’ debut, the episode will also include flashbacks to 1491 (hello there, Elijah!). Excited much?

KLAUS (GUEST STAR JOSEPH MORGAN, “BEN HUR”) IS REVEALED — Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are furious when they discover that Elena (Nina Dobrev) has defied them both to make a new ally and take control of the plan to out-maneuver Klaus (Morgan). Disagreement over how to protect Elena leads to growing tension between the Salvatore brothers. Meanwhile, Stefan has his hands full trying to keep a confused and frightened Jenna (Sara Canning) safe. Flashbacks to 1491 reveal Katherine’s (Nina Dobrev) introduction to Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus, along with the origin of the moonstone curse. Elena learns shocking new information about Klaus’ motives.

Matt Davis also stars.

Many thanks to the amazing Judy Yam for tweeting this premiere still from “Klaus” (left). The description doesn’t lie – things between the Salvatore brothers are looking tense, indeed.

Finally, EW has an exclusive sneak peek at the April 14th episode of “The Vampire Diaries”. It includes quotes from executive producer Julie Plec as well as new stills from the 1960s Decade Dance. Beware of spoilers! Looks like everyone is waiting for Klaus to arrive. But don’t get too excited – they will be disappointed.

Interview round-up: New promo videos, LA Times chats with Julie, Candice’s reveals to EW & MTV + more

Even though the show is on too-long hiatus this month, we can’t complain of lack of interviews. Various reporters have talked to the cast lately, such as Show Tracker, Zap2it‘s Carina Mackenzie and Hollywood Crush. We gathered all the articles in one post for your sanity. Check out the best quotes below and click on the links for the entire stories. And if you’d like to ask the writers a question yourself, head over to Vampire Diaries’ official Facebook page.

PopWrap: Dawn Olivieri: You never really die on ‘Vampire Diaries’

PW: Right, especially when that choice involves suffering from a fictional malady.
Dawn: Totally. What’s funny to me is that the writers are really showing what it’s doing to Damon. In season one, he was compelling Vicki and it became disastrous. He may have entered this situation thinking it could be a similar case, but it’s turning out much differently for Damon, which has been an interesting turn. He’s not just able to shrug her off like he thought he could. I can’t wait for you guys to see episode 19 – there’s a lot of Andie and Damon in that one. Some big things go down.

Show Tracker: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Remembering the dead with executive producer Julie Plec

That constant dark cloud over Mystic Falls means no one is safe forever, not even the show’s main trio of Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). “I think that there are people who are safe for quite a long time,” Plec says. “But the rule always applies. Anything can happen at any time, and not everybody’s going to like it, and not everyone’s going to be happy about it.” While Elena, Stefan and Damon are probably not going anywhere soon, it does seem likely there will be more casualties when the series returns April 7. “I think we’ve got about 20 characters working at this point. Yes, there will be a percentage of them that will not make it to season three.”

Interviews galore: Candice spills to TV Line, LA Times, MTV & more + Sara and Zach chats

With yesterday”s “Vampire Diaries” episode being the last until April, lots of interviews were released. The press talked to various cast members, particularly Candice. There are chats with Sara Canning and Zach Roerig, too. We brought all articles together, so you don’t lose your mind. Follow the links above the extracts for the entire stories. Thanks to Vampire-Diaries.net (@tvdnews) and Vampire Diaries Online (@tvdfansonline) for the heads up!

TV Line: Candice Accola Talks Tyler, Matt and that Dreaded Vampire Diaries Death

TVLINE | What can Caroline fans look forward to in the next few episodes?
Tyler (played by Michael Trevino) has just left, so Caroline is just working on everything being OK. He had been consuming her time — obviously she had his back and he didn’t have hers , and he’s been the one standing in between her opportunities with Matt (played by Zach Roerig). So she’s trying to get back to herself.

TV Guide: Vampire Diaries’ Sara Canning: Alaric’s Confession Will Rock Jenna’s World

“She started having these inklings and mistrust creeping in largely due to what John has been mumbling,” says Sara Canning. “Jenna is straight up with Alaric and says, ‘If this is going to work you need to be honest with me’ and he really doesn’t have anything to say.”

Zap2it: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Zach Roerig and Candice Accola talk young love, butterflies… and murderous vampires

Zach scoffs. “If Tyler comes back, he’ll have much more to deal with than just this love triangle. There will be a whole other can of worms. He’s not going to be a threat to the romance aspect of it, I don’t think,” he says. “Honestly if Matt and Caroline can just get through everything that happens to them in these next couple episodes, they can get through just about anything.”

Kat Graham covers Troix Magazine, JJ’s exclusive interview with Ian + Damon’s trying to get back to “normal”

Thanks to Vampire Diaries Online for the heads up that Katerina is one of Troix Magazine’s “lethal ladies” this month. The issue is dedicated to upcoming Valentine’s Day and the actress talks about her perfect Valentine. For more from Troix, follow them on Facebook.

Just Jared has just posted their exclusive interview with Ian Somerhalder. They chat about Damon’s new love interest, the Curse and his foundation. You can find an extract here, visit Just Jared for more.

JJ: Executive producer Julie Plec teased, “We have this impending ritual, the sacrifice that will break the curse of the sun and the moon — that’s where we’ll end our season”. Can you talk or hint a little bit about that?
IS: It’s funny because we get our scripts just a couple of days before. I know that there’s going to be a pretty sizable showdown between the werewolves and vampires and I can’t imagine Klaus not showing up after all this talk. So I don’t know, I can only imagine the way I see things going so there will be a big showdown, its a problem. Damon forged these relationships, found himself caring in places and times when its very intermediate, but I think protecting Elena and his home from one entity that’s more powerful or could possibly kill him is enough. Protecting her too is very difficult and it’s wearing on him and the couple is starting feel emotional and start not being able to understand how to grapple with all this emotion, it’s really tough.

As we tweeted this morning, the show is featured in E! Online‘s Kristin latest spoiler chat. A fan asked her if Damon would stop drinking blood straight from the source. Here’s what she had to say:

Wendy: As hot as angry Damon is on The Vampire Diaries, I have a soft spot for good Damon. Tell me he chills out in upcoming episodes.
Well, he’s going to try. Ian Somerhalder promises us that much. “He’s trying his damnest to keep it together,” he tells us. At least Damon knows he’s miserable. So, that’s step one, right?

Zap2it & EW: More tidbits from the Vampire Diaries cast

Zap2it‘s @cadlymack hasn’t been doing anything but teasing us this week. Following her video interviews with Kat and Ian, fellow “Vampire Diaries” fan published new snippets from Wesley and Dobrev as well as clips featuring Somerhalder and Trevino (click to check them out).

Before things go terribly wrong, fans of Stefan and Elena as a couple will be pleased to see some sweet, happy moments, including an emotional scene where they discuss the reality of Elena’s mortality. After all, if Elena remains human, she is inevitably going to age and someday die — while Stefan will stay 17 forever. “There’s a lovely scene that we do at the lake house discussing that,” Wesley says. “Touching lightly upon it without hitting you over the head, you know what I mean? It’s really kind of beautiful.”

Read the rest of the chat with Paul here.

“She feels like everyone around her is against her,” Dobrev says. “She has one thing in mind: she wants to sacrifice herself to save her family and her friends, and they are hell-bent on stopping her. It almost feels like everyone is against her. Now, her father comes home on top of everything, and he’s in cahoots with everyone about it.”

The entire Nina interview – at Zap2it.

EW‘s recently caught up with Michael Trevino and Ian Somerhalder, too. Michael speculates what could happen when already too confused Tyler finds about the Sun and the Moon curse. The actor also spoils his character will have some serious choices to make rather sooner than later – and they will have quite an impact on vampires and werewolves both. Visit PopWatch for the full story.

On the other hand, Ian talks about filming while having walking pneumonia. As you probably remember, Mr. Somerhalder was sick in the last two months of 2010 – in other words, from episode 9 to 12. Despite that fact, he didn’t go home (as normal people would do), but continue shooting. Marcos Siega’s return and the possibility of “Vampire Diaries” set cursed are also mentioned. Find the whole article over at Inside TV.

Oh, and there’s a “Where Were We” slideshow up at Entertainment Weekly. It includes tidbits from almost every cast member. Must read!

Crying Wolf episode description, stills from 213 & 214 + new Stefan poster

Been dying for a Stefan poster? Well, your wish just came true. New January Sweeps poster (left) hit the Net a few days ago. In case the MQ version doesn’t please you, Blood Falls have it in high quality. Sorry, Damon, but there’s a reason he always gets the girl.

Many thanks to VampireSite.net for revealing the official description of episode 14, “Crying Wolf”. It airs February 10th and promises to be very interesting.

SECRETS AND LIES – Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) get away for what they hope will be a romantic weekend at the Gilbert family lake house, not realizing that they’ve been followed. Jenna (Sara Canning) starts to worry that Alaric (Matt Davis) isn’t being honest with her. Jules (guest star Michaela McManus) explains the importance of the sun and moon curse to Tyler (Michael Trevino), but leaves out an important detail. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) attends a tea at the Historical Society in order to talk to Elijah (guest star Daniel Gillies), but Elijah isn’t giving up any secrets. With help from Caroline (Candice Accola) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Bonnie (Katerina Graham) uses deceptive measures to get shocking new information out of Luka (guest star Bryton James). Finally, Tyler offers Matt (Zach Roerig) some relationship advice.

David Von Ancken directed the episode written by Brian Young.

As if the synopsis wasn’t enough to thrill us, Nina Dobrev Network has two stills from the February 10th episode. You can check them out in her gallery. Let the celebrations begin, Stelena fans! And in case you haven’t wished NDN happy 1st anniversary yet, head over to her site to do it. 🙂

The CW has released images from “Daddy Issues” as well. Credit goes to Andrea, again. There are some previews below, all the stills are up over at Vampire Diaries Web. Looks like Tyler fans will join Stelena ones in their happiness.

Spoilers galore: Vampire Diaries in EW, Plec spills to TV Guide & TV Fanatic, PopWatch previews Damon’s bedroom + more

This week has brought “Vampire Diaries” fans a lot of scoop. First, Mega Buzz posted an interesting snippet from Julie Plec saying “the vampire-werewolf conflict is going to go from a simmer to a boil.” The executive producer also comments on Tyler and Jules’s relationship status, visit TV Guide for the entire story.

Julie Plec talked to one more TV Guide reporter – Carita Rizo. In Julie’s chat with her (which you can find here), she discusses Klaus (how surprising, isn’t it?), how the curse will affect Rose and everyone else as well as what’s ahead for Damon and Elena.

Gabrielle Compolongo posted part two of her interview with Plec. The writer compares Klaus vs. Elijah, teases the Originals, the Katherine-stuck-in-the-tomb situation, Luka and his dad, etc. Plus, she answers the question whether Elena and Damon will ever get together. Head over to TV Fanatic to find out, but first, read on to understand what you can look forward to when the show returns.

In a summation, what can you tell us about the second half of season two?
We’ve set a lot of things in motion, and we’re going to come to the end of what we’re calling our werewolf chapter, which will really take that story to a really dark place and really change a lot of characters’ lives, not necessarily in a good way. We are going to dig deeper into the secrets of our new witches and what Bonnie’s role is going to be in their story, and of course, it’s all about the fear of the impending Klaus, and who’s going to be fighting on who’s side, who’s bond is with who, who’s going to betray whom, and is this curse going to be lifted at the hands of a sacrifice that would kill Elena. We’re full steam ahead.

Los Angeles Times has a nice review of Nina’s quotes said at the CW Winter TCA Panel and Party last week. The actress comments on playing the very different from one another Elena and Katherine. She also shares her speculations about whether or not Ms. Pierce will come out of the tomb, if  Elena will keep her promise to Elijah and more. Read the full article at Show Tracker.

Ian Somerhalder hasn’t dallied, too. He recently revealed PopWatch what Damon’s bedroom looked like. Kevin and Julie joined him to talk about his character’s bathroom. According to them, there will be a bath scene in one episode, and a shower scene in the next. We couldn’t ask for more, could we? Check out the rest of the interview over at Entertainment Weekly.

“The Vampire Diaries” is also featured in the latest issue of EW. The Salvatore Boarding House has the spread in HQ, and Vampire-Diaries.net published a great recap of the major hints. Both the scans and the article are up at their site.

Video interview round-up: Steven chats with Zap2it, KTLA’s Paul interview, Nina Dobrev on MTV’s 10 on Top & more

With “The Vampire Diaries” midseason premiere next week (believe it or not), the cast was interviewed by many reporters, such as Watch With Kristin, TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross and more. You can find all the videos below. There are also links to the articles in addition to them, so please take time to go through these as well. (Lots of) SPOILERS to follow! Sorted by upload date.

TV Guide’s short chat with Julie Plec, Michael’s workout revealed

TV Guide recently sat down with executive producer Julie Plec to talk about “By the Light of the Moon”. Besides talking about the episode and Tyler’s transformation, Julie comments on the curse of the sun and the moon and Elena’s “suicidal tendency” (couldn’t say it better myself, Damon).

We now know that Tyler is but a piece of the puzzle that Klaus needs to break the vampire curse sealed by the blood of Elena’s ancestors. “Once it became personalized to Elena and she realized she was at the center of this curse, now suddenly it’s very much a human story of a girl trying to balance, ‘How do I save and protect the people I love? Is the right thing to do here to be a martyr? I’ve got all these people in my life willing to die for me; can I do the same for them?'” Plec says.

Read the rest of the interview at TV Guide.

And Wetpaint have some more tidbits from their chat with Michael (feels like it has no end, not that it’s a bad thing). Here, he discusses how he got that awesome body. Finally some material for the male fans. Read a tease here and check out the entire story over at their site.

WP: How many crunches a day does it take to maintain Ty’s abs?
MT: Um. Uh. I don’t know. I don’t really keep count. Let’s just say a hundred. Yep. A hundred sounds good.
