Chat time: Vampire Diaries finale scoop, Originals & sacrifices

Yes, you heard that right. It’s chat time again! With season two coming to an end, there’s been hundreds of interviews surfacing. I put them all together in this post for your safety and sanity. There are many topics discussed, especially the finale, the Curse of the Sun and the Moon and Klaus, of course. For more scoop, click on the Interview category at the top of the page.

Zap2it: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev on Katherine: ‘It must be a lonely place’

Don’t expect Katherine to stay down for long, though. “When she gets rejected, she wants it even more,” she says. “It’s the want-what-I-can’t-have syndrome. It makes the dynamic with Katherine and Damon a little bit more interesting because all of a sudden he doesn’t want her anymore. It’s kind of like ‘Oh, you don’t want me? I’m going to make you want me.’ It heightens the love triangle even more between those three.”

Song list & ratings of The Last Dance (218), this week’s Klaus promo

There were quite a lot of tracks featured on “Vampire Diaries” last Thursday, as Chris Mollere promised. And they’re all revealed now, thanks to him again. Click on the links next to each one to download it. Huge thanks to Trent Dabbs for offering his version of “Last Kiss” for free download!

1. Patrick Stump “Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia)” – Amazon US, Amazon UK
2. Kula Shaker “Hush” – Amazon US, Amazon UK
3. The Mamas & The Papas “Dedicated To The One I Love” – Amazon US, Amazon UK
4. Trent Dabbs “Last Kiss” – Download for free
5. The Birthday Massacre “I Think We’re Alone Now” – Amazon US, Amazon UK
6. The Manhattans “I Wanna Be (Your Everything)” – Amazon US, Amazon UK
7. The Dollyrots “Dream Lover”

A few hours after the airing of the episode, TV by the Numbers posted its ratings. They’re a little higher than past week, but still unusually low. As much as I hate to say it, I’m disappointed again.

The CW’s The Vampire Diaries stayed at its season low 1.2 adults 18-49 rating, while Nikita rose a tenth vs. last week to a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating.

Long live, one-minute trailers! The CW continues to surprise us (nicely, of course) by uploading longer and longer promos. Here’s “Klaus” one, featuring the entire Scooby-Doo gang. Englishmen! Flashbacks! Originals! Is this real life?

Zap2it’s video chats with Sara & Zach: Personal growth, twists and turns

Zap2it‘s @cadlymack continues to please “Vampire Diaries” fans with her set reports. She posted her chat with Sara Canning last night. The actress opens up about the fall-out of Isobel’s arrival, the men in Jenna’s life, which way she’s going to go, etc. You can watch the interview over at Zap2it.

“It’s kind of hard to say what needs to happen now, or what prominent piece of story needs to happen that would fix that. I think we would see some significant Alaric and Jenna time in terms of them addressing their relationship and defining it.”

Just an hour after Know Thy Enemy’s airing, Carina released another on-set interview. This time, it features Zach Roerig. He comments on Matt’s growth, the recent events around him and his reaction to Tyler’s impending return. Play the video below for more scoop and Zach’s blue eyes.

More from Kat Graham and Julie Plec: Tonight’s “Know Thy Enemy”, characters’ returns & deaths + the countdown to Klaus begins

One more interview with Katerina has surfaced today, this time with E! Online. She dishes about the Sacrifice, what lengths Bonnie is willing to go for Elena to and her romance with Jeremy. Continue to read to learn who the new witch in town is, the rest of the article can be found at Watch with Kristin.

We’re not sure we love that ominous answer and it certainly didn’t put us at ease, but maybe the addition of a new witch in Mystic Falls will help fight evil and keep Bonnie living to see another day (and another season). “Lisa Tucker, who plays Greta, Jonas’ daughter, is coming to town, which is really exciting. Another witch on the scene! I’m always for more witches. The more witches the better,” Graham tells us.

Inside TV has recently sat down with Julie Plec to talk about all things “Vampire Diaries”. The writer spills up about almost every character’s storyline, including Damon’s, Caroline’s and Isobel’s. She also discusses tonight’s episode, next Mystic Falls’ full moon and the season finale.

“He [Morgan] has a depth and an intelligence as an actor, but he’s also got this great wicked grin and these dimples that make him seem both fun and naughty at the same time, even as he’s being evil or very stern,” Plec says. “So there’s a playfulness about him that Kevin and I really liked because we didn’t want Klaus to be a one-note bad guy. The more layers that we can bring to the character, the more successful the character’s gonna be, and Joseph seems to have the ability to do all that.” (Plec says he’s also read all the L.J. Smith books upon which the series is based, and has not only done his research on Klaus, but also the vampire canon and lore in general.)

Episode 20 & 22 (season finale!) titles, additional stills from season 2

Spoiler TV has recently revealed the CW primetime schedule for the entire season. Thank God, there won’t be any other breaks this year until after the finale. The schedule also shows episode 20 title – “The Last Day”. Last dance, last day… poor Mystic Falls residents, I would say!

Plus, Ian Somerhalder announced the start of season 2 finale shooting yesterday. Right after that, he tweeted a photo of his own copy of the script (right). It is titled “As I Lay Dying”, written by TBD and directed by John Behring (“Plan B”, “The Last Dance”). I’m with mixed feelings about this – happy that the cast will be finally able to catch a break, but also sad that it’s that time of the year again.

It’s here-Season finale episode (ep222) of TVD.Wow,44 episodes in 24 months.Almost 3pm,got out of bed,coffee and new script- awesomeness…

Andrea at Vampire Diaries Web has added yet another batch of extra stills and BTS pictures to their gallery. There are images from almost every single episode so far as well as a few from next week’s “Know Thy Enemy”. They’re honestly awesome, so be sure to visit the site and look through them!

UPDATE:

Vampire-Diaries.net reported the last unknown season 2 episode title last night. According to them, episode 21 will be the one where “The Sun Also Rises”. Vee also let her imagination loose and shared her thoughts on the recently revealed titles. Check them all out here. Some really interesting references there!

Vampire Diaries preview for future episodes, more stills from Klaus (219) + new promo poster

CWtelevision has released a shiny new promo as an April present to all “Vampire Diaries” fans. It includes footage from at least three upcoming episodes as well as scenes with almost every character. There’s something for everyone, to put it mildly. The CW certainly knows how to please their viewers. Just five episodes left until season 2 finale. Are you ready for a ride?

Vampire Diaries Web has posted three more stills from “Klaus”. Unfortunately, there’s still not one of the “oldest vampire in the history of time”. Not that it comes as a surprise – I suppose the writers want to keep him a mystery. However, the new pictures offer a look at crying Elena and Jenna, plus rather shocked Damon and Andie. Looks like the girl’s still alive – you can’t deny she has luck. As to why the ladies are crying, we don’t know. But don’t worry – all will be revealed April 21st.

April Sweeps poster has also been revealed. It portrays “born to die” Elena surrounded by flowers. You can check it out along with some “Klaus” stills below. Head over to Vampire-Diaries.net for a textless version.

Klaus (219) episode description + first look, EW’s sneak peek at The Last Dance

The summary of probably the most anticipated episode this season came out last night. It’s titled “Klaus” and airs Thursday, April 21st. That’s when the Original will come out of the dark, as Ausiello teased in February. And guess what? Apart from Klaus’ debut, the episode will also include flashbacks to 1491 (hello there, Elijah!). Excited much?

KLAUS (GUEST STAR JOSEPH MORGAN, “BEN HUR”) IS REVEALED — Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are furious when they discover that Elena (Nina Dobrev) has defied them both to make a new ally and take control of the plan to out-maneuver Klaus (Morgan). Disagreement over how to protect Elena leads to growing tension between the Salvatore brothers. Meanwhile, Stefan has his hands full trying to keep a confused and frightened Jenna (Sara Canning) safe. Flashbacks to 1491 reveal Katherine’s (Nina Dobrev) introduction to Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus, along with the origin of the moonstone curse. Elena learns shocking new information about Klaus’ motives.

Matt Davis also stars.

Many thanks to the amazing Judy Yam for tweeting this premiere still from “Klaus” (left). The description doesn’t lie – things between the Salvatore brothers are looking tense, indeed.

Finally, EW has an exclusive sneak peek at the April 14th episode of “The Vampire Diaries”. It includes quotes from executive producer Julie Plec as well as new stills from the 1960s Decade Dance. Beware of spoilers! Looks like everyone is waiting for Klaus to arrive. But don’t get too excited – they will be disappointed.

Candice Accola, Michael Trevino & Julie Plec at C2E2, March 19th

Candice, Michael and Julie recently stopped by Chicago to attend Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. They met with local “Vampire Diaries” fans for a signing and Q&A session. @ChrisMCtv and @ShowPatrol were lucky enough to be there and tweeted some photos for the rest of us. Plus, Candice Accola Web has a nice collection of pictures which you can view in the gallery. Click on the previews below for more. There are also links to various articles and videos from the panel under them.

Interview round-up: New promo videos, LA Times chats with Julie, Candice’s reveals to EW & MTV + more

Even though the show is on too-long hiatus this month, we can’t complain of lack of interviews. Various reporters have talked to the cast lately, such as Show Tracker, Zap2it‘s Carina Mackenzie and Hollywood Crush. We gathered all the articles in one post for your sanity. Check out the best quotes below and click on the links for the entire stories. And if you’d like to ask the writers a question yourself, head over to Vampire Diaries’ official Facebook page.

PopWrap: Dawn Olivieri: You never really die on ‘Vampire Diaries’

PW: Right, especially when that choice involves suffering from a fictional malady.
Dawn: Totally. What’s funny to me is that the writers are really showing what it’s doing to Damon. In season one, he was compelling Vicki and it became disastrous. He may have entered this situation thinking it could be a similar case, but it’s turning out much differently for Damon, which has been an interesting turn. He’s not just able to shrug her off like he thought he could. I can’t wait for you guys to see episode 19 – there’s a lot of Andie and Damon in that one. Some big things go down.

Show Tracker: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Remembering the dead with executive producer Julie Plec

That constant dark cloud over Mystic Falls means no one is safe forever, not even the show’s main trio of Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). “I think that there are people who are safe for quite a long time,” Plec says. “But the rule always applies. Anything can happen at any time, and not everybody’s going to like it, and not everyone’s going to be happy about it.” While Elena, Stefan and Damon are probably not going anywhere soon, it does seem likely there will be more casualties when the series returns April 7. “I think we’ve got about 20 characters working at this point. Yes, there will be a percentage of them that will not make it to season three.”

Know Thy Enemy (217) description, stills + extended promo

The CW Network has revealed the official synopsis of the first episode after the hiatus, “Know Thy Enemy”. Looks like a lot of things are going to happen. Be sure to tune in April 7th for all new “Vampire Diaries”. Thanks to VampireSite.net for the heads up!

HIDE IN PLAIN SIGHT — Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Alaric (Matt Davis) both lash out at John (guest star David Anders) when Isobel’s (guest star Mia Kirshner) unexpected arrival leaves Jenna (Sara Canning) devastated. Bonnie (Katerina Graham) works with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to find the spell they’ll need to harness her ancestors’ power. A heartbroken Caroline (Candice Accola) doesn’t know what to do about Matt (Zach Roerig). Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon realize they have a new secret weapon.

Wendey Stanzler directed the episode written by Mike Daniels.

HQ stills popped up as well. It was about time! Some of them are quite spoilery, especially for the ones who haven’t watched “The House Guest” yet. See previews here, more images are up in Vampire Diaries Web’s gallery.

And here’s the extended trailer of episode 17, courtesy of The CW again. Let’s hope a preview clip will be released soon. Just 15 days left until you know who is back. 😉
