Nina Dobrev teases the finale, Daniel Gillies on Elena’s influence + Julie spills up to TV Guide

Amy Wilkinson (@amymwilk) has posted her latest dose of “Vampire Diaries” goodies. In this video interview, Nina teases what to expect from “As I Lay Dying”, which, according to her, prepares the audience for season 3. The entire article is up over at Hollywood Crush.

PopWrap‘s Jarett Wieselman continues his “Vampire Diaries” interview series with the following chat. In it, Daniel Gillies discusses Elijah’s personality and humanity (or what’s left of it) as well as his connection with Elena. Check out an excerpt here and head over to NYPost for the whole material.

PW: So you think there might be something more to their relationship?
Daniel: There’s no question that he’s enchanted by Elena but it’s not as simplistic as needing to be with this girl — I just think he’s more fascinated by her as a study in the potential of what a person can be. I think that if he does survive [the finale] and leaves Mystic Falls, I don’t think he can stay away because she’s too much of a miracle for him. There’s something in her that’s also in him – I don’t mean to be grotesque about it and frame this in a romantic context, but there’s a spiritual quality they share and that’s going to be very difficult for him to not return to.

Finally, Robyn Ross has released part one of her exclusive interview with Julie Plec. The producer and writer explains the (bloody) events around the Sacrifice and leave no clueless innocence, and shares her expectations for the May 12th finale. Visit TV Guide for more and come back tomorrow for the next part!

The penultimate episode was epic, how can the finale compare?
Plec: The last episode was clearly the season finale of our mythology storyline. We went all out and that was as deliberate choice knowing that the story we wanted to tell in our season finale is actually the emotional resolution of the season. We also want to really give the audience a window to where we’re going in Season 3, a taste of what the series is going to be like as we move forward.

Hollywood Life talks to Michael Trevino, is Damon doomed on The Vampire Diaries?

Michael Trevino attended a Tyler Shields photo exhibit last week. There, he met Hollywood Life. The two talked about the reason why Tyler would probably stick around, the dynamic between him and Caroline and Michael’s wishes for them as a couple. He also mentions the charity he’s working for right now and Chloe, whose idea it actually was.

Are Matt and Tyler going to be friends again? Do you miss filming those buddy/buddy scenes with Zach Roerig?

I really do. I miss working with Zach. And also Steven [R. McQueen.] I think they’ll be friends. Like he said in the last episode, he’s by himself. His mother’s gone, he lost his sister. … Who else is he going to turn to? He realizes Tyler means well, but obviously, given the circumstances of the moon coming every now and then, you can’t control that.

THE ENTIRE INTERVIEW – AT HOLLYWOOD LIFE.

With tomorrow’s EPIC season finale, I bet Kristin‘s email was full of “Vampire Diaries” questions. She chose to answer two of them (both related to Damon)  in E! Online’s latest spoiler chat. If you haven’t watched episode 20 yet, they’re extremely spoilery for you. And if you’re a fan of Damon and Elena together, the second one will make you pant for next episode even more.

aka_savannah: Will this partial werewolf bite kill my poor heart-broken Damon? #TVD
Just from knowing what we know about how TV shows work—like how networks don’t let producers kill off lead male characters—we’re gonna go ahead and say…no, Damon will not die from the werewolf bite.

lauren_delena: Any Damon and Elena finale scoop? Will they finally kiss? Thanks!
We will say that because Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is going crazy over his werewolf bite, he is capable of doing anything and saying anything. All bets are off and anything can happen when an off-his-rocker vampire is on the loose!

PopWrap’s interviews with Nina Dobrev & Stephen Amell: “It’s survival of the fittest.”

Looks like it’s “Vampire Diaries” week at PopWrap. After posting his interview with former guest star Stephen Amell, Jarett Wieselman has published his Nina Dobrev chat today. The actor, who played Brady, comments on filming “Daddy Issues” with Candice Accola, auditioning for Mason and Elijah as well as his other projects.

PW: I’m guessing that happened after filming Caroline’s torture scene?
Stephen: Yes. That was a really fun scene, and all the credit there goes to Candice Accola. She was the one with small explosives strapped to her arms, fishing bullets out of her skull. I just sat back and got to be creepy [laughs]. That was a fun scene.

On the other hand, Nina spills up about balancing between two characters, Katherine’s different faces, last week’s and this week’s shocking twists, etc. You can find an interesting quote below and go to New York Post for the full story.

PW: Will this finale set up the events of season three the way “Founder’s Day” set up season two?
Nina: It does. There’s not just one – there’s two or three kind of big twists that change the course of everyone’s lives, and they’re unexpected. It affects Damon & Elena hugely. It effects Stefan more than anyone would have imagined. Jeremy’s life is just completely turned around, and almost confusing – you’ll see why soon enough. But it initiates these storylines that will flourish in season three.

As I Lay Dying (222) preview clip

The last webclip of season two has just been released. In it, Stefan and Damon are talking about a cure against you-know-what (just don’t want to spoil it for international fans). Don’t miss the season finale this Thursday, May 12th at 8/7c. In case you don’t know, Vampire-Diaries.net and Philo reunite to organize yet another virtual viewing party with plenty of prizes. Details can be found here. Now is your chance to join fellow “Vampire Diaries” fans for a night full of cliffhangers!

As I Lay Dying (222, season finale!) trailer + Mystic Diaries latest part

It’s here, folks. After this Thursday’s airing of “The Sun Also Rises”, there’s just one episode left for season two. In case you’ve been living in a cage for the last couple of weeks, you should know that it’s has the rather ominous title “As I Lay Dying”. Synopsis and stills can be found in the sidebar. And thaks to Vampire-Diaries.net for the heads up that the song used in the promo is called “Ship of Fools” by FirstCom Music. It’s not available for download, but you can still listen to it at the company’s site.

WARNING: There’s a character back, which makes this trailer even more spoilery than usual. Steer clear unless you like spoilers.

Last week, another part of Mystic Diaries series was released. In it, Nina Dobrev and Candice Accola take you behind the scenes of episode 18 and 20. Michael, Ian, John Cockman (Alaric’s stunt coordinator) and Matt himself also appear. Check out more gabryssskaaa’s videos on her channel and visit The Vampire Diaries Lair for previous parts.

Nina Dobrev interviews: EW, Hollywood Crush, TV Guide + new promotional photo

More and more interviews continue to pop up. This week, they have been mostly of Ms. Dobrev. They can be all found below and follow the links for the whole stories. Nina opens up about her “Vampire Diaries” co-stars, the characters she plays and the last two episodes of season 2. There are some pretty spoilery segments, so beware!

Inside TV: Nina Dobrev’s five teases for tonight’s ‘Vampire Diaries’ (and one big one for the season finale)

• Fans are talking about chemistry between Elena and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Should we be? “We can obviously tell that there was something between Elijah and Katherine, and there is now something sort of building between Elena and Elijah. Is it the same thing that’s been going on with every guy who’s encountered Elena after having survived Katherine?” Dobrev asks. (She has no answer.) “It’s funny,” she says. “Daniel Gillies is such a sweetheart, and he’s so amazing and so funny, and we’re really, really good friends, so we have a lot of fun on set. That kind of chemistry and friendship definitely can be caught on camera. I’m glad that it plays.”

Hollywood Crush: Nina Dobrev Says Tonight’s ‘Vampire Diaries’ Ep Will Be ‘Very Sad, Epic’

“Paul Sommers is directing it,” Nina said. “And Paul Sommers is our director of photography, so he’s done every episode since the beginning, except the pilot. So it’s his directorial debut. And it’s really cool and we’re really excited for him.”

Spoilers galore: Klaus’s ritual, extreme loss of life + the year of the Originals

This season’s finale is coming closer and closer. The closer we get, the more chats surface. As we wrote yesterday, there was a press screening of last night’s episode on Wednesday. Most of the stories contain major spoilers for it (as well as the rest of the season), so I advise you not to read them unless you’ve seen it. This time, I decided to post just links to the articles since there are plenty of them and I feel like you’ll get a headache if there are segments from each one.

Nina Dobrev and Joseph Morgan’s Morning appearances

Nina Dobrev and Joseph Morgan have made appearances on various morning shows today. First, Nina was on PIX Morning News. She spilled up about the show, its second season finale and both characters she played. Her latest role as Seventeen Magazine’s cover girl was also mentioned. You can read Shelley Nig’s article at PIX’s site.

On the other hand, the real Klaus (you know what I mean) stopped by KTLA Morning News. He dished on his “Vampire Diaries” audition, playing the Original, his previous credits and more. Play the video below to see more from Joseph’s short hair-do (more than in last episode, at least).

More episode stills for As I Lay Dying (222)

Following the description and first look for this season’s finale, The CW Network has revealed more stills from the episode today. They are kind of spoilery, so watch with caution. Check out previews below and access Vampire Diaries Web’s gallery for more.

Nina Dobrev & Ian Somerhalder at Coachella Music Festival, April 16th

“Vampire Diaries” stars Nina and Ian were at Coachella Music Festival: Day 2 last weekend. They were joined by Diane Kruger and her boyfriend Joshua Jackson. Credit goes to Just Jared, more photos are up here and here.

The same day (April 16th), the co-workers attended Armani Exchange Brunch. Unfortunately, there aren’t much pictures from there, but a few are better than nothing, right? Thanks to Vampire Diaries Web for posting! You can find UHQ versions from both events at Vampire Diaries Show.

And during the night, Dobrev and Somerhalder showed up at A|X Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine NEON Carnival. Nina looked brilliant in her fairy dress and Ian was… Ian – hot, hot and hot. Head over to VDW’s gallery for the rest of the images.

A video from the carnival has also surfaced. In it, the stars talk about season 2 finale, saying there will be not one, but a couple of cliffhangers. Just in case you haven’t seen “As I Lay Dying” synopsis and first still yet, go here and take a look at them.
